On my 600D i got zero magenta frames in videomode (720p) with 1120x400 crop (new version... HDR thingy)
with the linescipping factor of 1.66x that almost gives me a nice 16:9 ratio when using pretty much of the sensor

works like charm!
1% did an excellent job in porting!

excpect some testfootage!

if i record with sound on my 600d (ml audiorecorder), i either loose wav, get skipped frames, or camera is crashing instantly!
except i record in really tight crops....

if im in 640x480 mode i still dont get any magenta frame
i feel like photo-mode works best after 640x480, but dont rely on that! just a feeling didnt test this much

Edit: can confirm this! photo mode (m) and 640x480 work both without any magenta frame! /Edit

besides an interesting fact:
the higher the iso the more fixed (noise?) dots i get when viewing the dngs with picasa...
just like beeing said it doesnt matter in acr

okay i checked a bit more on 600D
no magenta frames on 640x480 mode... even when recording in 1120x400

same size in 720p mode, 1080p mode or photo-mode

so... its not the buffer...(?)

1%: Like i said a few pages ago, with the new "beeps twice" (wich doesn beep twice for me) i get ZERO magenta frames when recording in 720x400
going to higher resolutions, and the buffer fills up more, i get this magenta stuff again!

i really think it has something to do with sd-writespeeds/the buffers

global draw is always off

I cant really contribute much to the cause..but if it helps a way to help automate the raw2dng process:

1. create a .bat
2. paste in the location of your raw2dng.exe   (ie. mine is C:\Users\John\Desktop\RawFootage\raw2dng.exe)
3. add %~n1.raw to the end of the line   (ie. C:\Users\John\Desktop\RawFootage\raw2dng.exe %~n1.raw)

this allows you to simply drag n drop the .raw onto the .bat and immediately convert without having to open a cmd and type anything

Hope this helps

It even works without the batch-file ;)

Absulutely ZERO(!) magenta stuff when shooting 720x400 on my 600D with new raw_rec.mo
fantastic!

On 600D i get a lot of frames like this...
#33
on 600D recording raw video in 720 X 480 works perfectly fine... didn't test more will try tomorrow!

using a Transcend 16gb class 10 card

This is so fricking awesome!

sRAW in ML-Menu is for 600D
I guess you should choose sRAW in normal canan-dialog

Why don't use a frameskip formula instead of using FPS-ovverride...

This way we could set like a frequency for silent pics in burst mode while the LV still refreshes with 24 oder 30 fps

For me this would be a whole lot more comfortable, also i havent had any problems when not using fps override

Raw recording needs lv debug enabled... Also its still hardcoded to 5d3 for the 600D build.

Any chance to manually put the container on the raw files? I assume thats why they won't open.

The RAWs are also corrupt in camera (when it saves them), i guess they really are broken, havent looked to deep into it though
#37
on my 600d raw silent pics are a bit glitchy...
using them with fps ovverride at 7fps
sometimes the frames are 2046x1154 and completely broken

then again, sometimes i get working dngs in size 1740x1154

using 1% autoexe.bin from tragiclantern and did not compile myself tough

on my 600D raw-recording crashes

Edit: Crash only appears in crop modes
Getting 16Frames normally
and 26 in 720p mode

720p modes are stretched, but edit normally in adobe camera-raw
Setting fps-override to low, will result in coruppt files :(

Getting about 30frames in yuv, single file

Besides Video...
If it works on 600D etc. we have finally working smaller RAW images! Great for doing longer sequences!

With that: http://eos-movrec.sourceforge.net/
I get out 25-30fps! Not in Movie-Mode tough... Just Manual Photo-Mode, So LiveView only on PC, but works great!

Afaik it saves the Live-View Buffer compressed with MJPEG
It's Open-Source!

Would anyone mind extending beep() to beep(int msecs, int frequency)? ;)

Only problem when thinking about Tetris is that get_key is currently blocking :(
Tetris makes no fun if you have to move Blocks down manually...

General Chat / Re: Limiting factor in burst mode

As far as i know, we cant just lock up the Mirror and take Pictures only moving the shutter, also we cant get pcitures leaving the shutter open, wich is another limiting factor.

It is possible to read LiveView-buffer tough. Wich is the SilentPic-funktion of ML.
Don't know how the Framerate of this is...

If like... 1080p oder 720p is enough in resolution, you could do a Video and cut out single frames in post ;)

Well... Okay, then i don't know if I would try it out...
Can't afford a new camera in years :/

Though I'm pretty familiar with code, I'm not familiar enough with hacking of devices and I don't understand a lot of things with this good enough, so that I'm just not brave enough to try :(

Sounds great!

Cant wait to get my hands on this!

Maybe we could write a Programm for the PC to convert the mraw and sraw du adobe-dng afterwards?
