Test build pretty please?

looks really good so far. 3x3 720 crop mode at 10 bit crashed the camera and i had to pull the battery. i was able to load the footage and after running it through mlvfs i didn't see any focus pixels! awesome. also seemed like it had less aliasing and moire but maybe I'm wrong. looked nice though. gotta get it stable so it doesn't crash and require battery pull. i'll keep testing. thank you for the build.

Alex you talking about trying to get live view working?

I'm not a scientist but 10 bit looks great in resolve 12.5 using mlvfs after white balance in the raw tab on eos m.

this 10 bit raw is the best thing that ever happened. i don't think I've ever seen such a good image coming out of a camera. so excited for live view to be working on eosm. I've got an a7sii sitting in my room. i haven't even used it in a month. much prefer the image on this 100 dollar camera. absolutely hilarious.

got some (probably) stupid questions... Is 8 bit raw a thing? you know to achieve higher resolutions? how about monochrome black and white mode for the same reason? has anyone tried using an external monitor to see if that is also freezing while live view is freezing on 10 bit? I'd try it myself but i don't have any monitors or cables to do so. I'm talking about eos m. thanks.

this is awesome! thanks dfort for pointing me to this. live view still freezing on the eos m? just tried 1472x884 resolution in crop mode on eos m in 10 bit. looks very nice and detailed. just live view is freezing.

Anyone ever thought about high resolution black and white? Something with good dynamic range but no color and no aliasing? Just throwing it out there..

Just wanted to let you know. Not trying to be a jerk. Still wondering if true mv1080 would have less aliasing..I've been taping plastic in front of the sensor to try to make a fake vaf. . Funny thing is the best one so far was taping a piece of 35mm film in front. Not practical at all though cause I lose a stop or more of light. Does help with the aliasing though..

mlv file with focus dots made sure i was in 3x3 mode no warning sign. i am using the 1.66 aspect ratio does that make a difference? does this only work in 16x9? used mlvfs tweeked version from your post.

in the bookshelf area focus pixels they are really hard to see but if you add sharpness and contrast they come out. easier to see if you watch in 1080p on vimeo.

tried it but i still have focus pixels.. maybe i missed somethin? reinstalled the version of magic lantern in the download and installed the new tweaked mlvfs for mac..focus pixels on my footage after trying normal and aggressive settings. are we supposed to do something with the fpm file that in missing?

so is this the same as mv1080 on the other cameras? or are we getting a little more moire and aliasing than the others? this is mv720 3x3 right not mv1080? just wondering...

shot in 1152x692 1.66 aspect ratio 720 3x3 mode. I realize this looks like crap it was shot at iso 3200 with like a 30 watt light bulb in my room. you can see white focus pixels on the pillow in the middle. I also boosted contrast so they are easier to see. You can also tell by the vignette on the lens that the picture isn't centered its more towards the top of the frame. link to video

I have focus pixels on my footage. I'm using 5:3 aspect ratio though 1.66.. maybe since the framing is off they are underneath of your footage?..maybe I'm doing something wrong but Ive got em. I did the same thing you outlined dfort except i used 1080p30 with fps override for 23.976.
