What a guy,
Mcm stands for movie crop mode , rewire means raw stream goes through crop mode to get better quality output.
If You really care that much theres module development section, it should be read by you long time ago but youre lazy.Just read it all, its fascinatiing and well documented.
I can tell you small secret, the more you push questioning like that , the less likely people will answer you.
Just dont do that, Its not the way , chill.

I was using an example, about 5k vs 5k rewire, for a non-English speaker.

Thanks for the info,
any idea why the isn't posted on the download page?

Seems relevant.

Imagine telling someone who doesn't understand perfect english all these lazy remarks. wow.

You're a gem

Just leave them. No regrets  8). It´s better to speak ones mind than hide in the shadows.

The irony of an inability to simply delete repeat questions.

Hey @ZEEK ...

rewire 5k vs 5k ?

half clicking the shutter gives a zoomed view to check the focus. It isn't split screen or focus peaking, but has been useful.

luther, im not familiar with chocolatey (or github)... can you advise how to install from these pages. I am reading "install" but there isn't a link. Every time I am linked from the board, it is to a github.

(im not a developer, so these pages are hieroglyphics to me)

Can I get a quick breakdown on "rewire".

Specifically this 5k vs 5k rewire, or more info on rewire in general.

I assume both are strictly for anamorphic lenses.

Try using MLVApp, available for Windows and MacOS as well, and very well supported, plus latest just came out. Never tried MLVProducer, but last update is from 5/2019.

Gave it shot, on both programs videos are importing very dark.

My live view is fine, but the imports are pitch black until i boost gamma or exposure.

Anyone experience footage that is too dark, pitch black pretty much, when imported into mlvproducer?

I filmed some stuff to test mcmrewire, and the anamorphic settings,
imported the footage and it was black.
Confused, I decided to boost the exposure and gamma to max.
Saw my footage.

Felt like, I read about this a while back

Raw Video Postprocessing / Portable Storage options ?
« on: September 29, 2018, 07:39:00 PM »
On location, Raw video files are enormous. Laptop is a bad option.

I tried a gnarbox, didn't work.
Using compactflash (and the occasional sd) transferring via usb3.0 reader.

Right now, I have a laptop, but the battery dies too much.

Could I load MLV producer onto a Pi or something similar ? Transfer to a storage drive ?

Anyone experimenting with storage options ?

@keel - for the SD hack I used files from @Danne's bitbucket page:  (I hope it's ok to share this, if not I'll delete the link)

I downloaded the "" file from 17th April 2018 and put that in my card (not the 27th April file which wouldn't do anything when I tried to run the overclock test). Then I downloaded his sd_uhs module file from 19th April and put that into the modules folder in ML (replacing the sd_uhs module that was already there).

After that I followed @IDA_ML 's instructions on how to run the SD overclock test and the card benchmark test, ensuring it's all done in photo mode. His instructions are here:

And it worked. I used a Sandisk extreme pro 95mb/s 64gb card. I'm only shooting 24fps.

Do let me know if there's a better way to do this!

This was exactly what I did originally, and now all I changed was the build date to Walter's recommendation (and I moved the sd uhs module, unless there is different iterations of the module and i used an incorrect one but the module runs, and my recording crashes. Sounds like user error and I am loading something incorrectly related to raw video)

UPDATE: i have made a bit of progress,
i was confused about the various modes (movie crop/crop mode/zoom)
especially coming from 50d, that zoom feature on the touchscreen of the eosm went over my head.
After closing the other modules for crop/raw to experiment i found it started to work a bit with MLV lite instead of 2.0
(im sure this is said somewhere in the threads, i may have missed it)
Highest I got on two cards was around 41mbs 2240 X 954 (3.74X) 2.35 12BIT

Highest bench was 45mbs write. This really boggles my mind because I was expecting some great performance from these Lexer Pro 150mb/s 1000x cards. Even a bump to 56mb/s seemed feasible, but I am stumped.
Again, I assume more often than not, user error.

What is your status now?
If problem persists post screens of
- sd_uhs after running
- modules tab
- Help tab, highlight on Press Info

Hey Walter, sorry for delayed response. Lot of hospital days draining my energy levels.
Is there a way for a screenshot with magic lantern? I apologize I am unfamiliar.

I am specifically using Lexer 150mb/s 1000x 32gb cards.
I turn on cam, set to photo mode, went to SD OVERCLOCK and it began "before the hack" running.
Got 45mb tops on a benchmark, every couple of tries. Usually 40mb.

Whenever I activate movie crop mode or crop mode, i get frame skipping/stopping immediately.
