Good day everyone,

I really don't want to be annoying and polluting this forum is not my goal but since I was not lucky in getting answer with my previous post, I am starting a new topic again. I see that a lot of people managed to get their camera back to life after getting Err 70 and this gives me hope.

My problem is exactly the same than the one that are described in many posts (see crash log below). I am only able to open the camera in C mode, thus, it is not possible for me the clear all settings.

I don't know a thing about software development. I am currently trying to learn how to compile a version on which I will have installed assertion handler but I must say that this is like Chinese to me.

I don't even know through which process I could set right value through a prop_request_change or call FA_Setdefaultseting has it is described in the unbricking section.

Any info or help that would allow me to get my camera back would be great. Getting a copy of an Autoexec file with assertion handler would be even better. Of course, I would be willing to pay someone that would offer me serious help.

Hi everyone one,

Could someone tell me if it is possible to install ML while being in C mode? My 60d got bricked (Err 70)and I can only open it under this mode. I was able to upgrade the firmware but when I launched ML installation process, I got the Err 70 again before getting the green confirmation screen.

Is it because I'm in C mode or could it be something else?

I would like to get ML in order to get a crash log.

This issue was already discussed here in the past but since the post I wrote have stayed unanswered for several weeks, I've decided to try again with a fresh topic.

I am seeking some help in order to unbrick my Canon 60d. Of course, I am willing to pay for this help if the procedure is successful.

The problem I have is very similar to many ones that were described on the forum:

-   I am getting Error 70 after the camera got slightly wet.
-   The camera can be initiated in C mode but I need to take the battery out first.
-   I was able to successfully update the firmware.
-   I tried running ML. I got Err 70 few second after lunching the firmware update with ML on card. I did not get any crash log.
-   I have set new picture parameters using GPHOTO2 but it did not work.

From what I understand, it is possible the forced reboot the camera using a modified autoexec file with disabled assertion. I don't currently have the knowledge to create such a file.

If this is indeed the way to go, I am wondering if someone share this autoexec file with me,

I am wondering if you managed to get your camera working. I am having the same problem with my 60d and I am also looking for a modified version of the autoexec file.

I currently don't have the expertise to compile the file myself. Of course, I am willing to pay if a solution is found.

I also tried the gphoto2 option without success.

Hi everybody,

I have been having the same issue with my 60d. I have seen on this forum that similar situations were successfully resolved. This gives me hope. My problem is almost exactly the same than the one documented by other users:

1) The camera got wet and since that, I kept having Err 70.

2) Most of the time (this is not consistent), I am able to open it in C mode after having removed the battery. This works with only one of my lens (EF-S 55-250 IS). When it does, everything is functional: each control beside de "mode wheel" is responding, autofocus works, it can take a picture and menu can be accessed flawlessly. This was tried using different lens, card and battery. From my point of view, this suggests that this is not a hardware issue although I can't be 100% sure (camera was ON what it got wet).

3) Iwas able to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.1 however after the incident. However; I have not been able to open the camera with a SD card mounted for a few days. This fact given, I was unable to install Magic Lantern in order to get a crash log (yet) but I'll continue trying it since I am aware that this log could help diagnose the problem.
I tried resetting the picture parameters using gphoto2 by following the previously shared instructions. The software was successfully installed but the procedure did not give any results.

Of course, any help in resolving this situation would be appreciated. From what I understand, the camera can be rebooted by using a modified autoexec and this would allow me the clear camera settings. If this is the way to go, I am wondering if someone could please share with me the modified autoexec and some basics instructions.
