Did you try extracting with mlv_dump? If yes Is it normal playable wav?

no I use MLVFS. What is mlv_dump?

Hi, I have a deadline on Thursday, yea I know it´s stupid to use ML on that types of jobs... ::)

anyway, in my Cdng folders the .wav contains zero bytes and in Davinci Resolve there is of course now audio channel.

Please help what to do?
#4
really good! I also wonder about the transition and where you got the sound effects from?

vistas i detta område varje dag och så hitar man det på ML forum! vad är oddsen haha!
#6
Really good! How did you grade this?
#7
Maybe, I´m definitely not an expert but when mlv_snd is off Mlvfs web page says no audio. Do you think it will work if I update ML with a newer build?

There is no audio recorded. There is a zero byte wav file in mlvfs and when processed in mlv_dump there is no audio file at all. Did you set mlv_snd to on? Anyway, that,s probably your problem.

yes of course mlv_snd was on! it´s weird that the web page of MLVFS says the it is out recorded tho. Maybe there is a bug with the build I use! thanks anyway.

The log file is completely empty. Best if you upload the MLV file. If it,s too long just film a shorter sample and check if that also isn,t working before sharing it.

looks like all log files are zero bytes!

here is a MLV file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2mDAyOt5Qr0V1pjWDBvbDFuLUE/view?usp=sharing

Did you by any chance refresh the web browser after selecting "DaVinci Resolve" checkbox within MLVFS's web guide yet?

I have tried to refresh the web page!

Here are some screen shots and the log file inside the cdng folder. the folder also contains the waw file.

Hi, there I recently bought a new computer so now I´m finally able to start using Davinci Resolve.

I have watched a ton off tutorials online so I have a okay knowledge off how to use the program.

One thing that´s not mentioned online that much is how to proper work with color (colorspaces, LUTs/Emulations etc)

So now I would appreciate some advice about just that.

I shoot Raw with Magic Lantern so the files in Resolve are CinemaDNGs 1080p. My ML Raw footage comes out with very little dinamic range but maybe that´s how ML Raw is acting.

Now I want to find the proper/professional color workflow within Resolve.

I have wound that the most common way to adjust color:

1.     Correct/balance

2.     Apply some sort of filmlook

3.     Final adjustments

In my case in the look stage I going to add something like the M31 Lut or a Film emulation of any kind.

The following question come up in my heat when trying to figure out a solution.

I have read a bit about Aces but I don´t see any advantages with that because I just have one type of files!

What colorspace to use in the camera raw tab? BMD or 709?

What node structure is the best? correction before or after look/lut? when to use scopes? when to correct skintones?

In words I want to know what the proper color workflow is? regarding Raw, Luts etc! Plz give as much information as possible! Every step from MLV Raw to impresivly graded footge!

Best regards //Olle form Sweden

I really like this! the waterfall shots are awesome! where in the world is this filmed?

Hi, I recently bought a new computer and now I'm able to start learning Davinci Resolve!
I have some questions about the correct and proper way to grade with luts.

1. I have found this tutorial from IWLTBAP Luts : https://vimeo.com/156630114 Is this the proper way to grade with luts on rec.709 even if I have raw footage? So if I have understood this right the proper way to grade with luts is following:
color correct ( WB, exposure with scopes etc.)
then apply the LUT for rec.709 and make some final adjustments.

2. In the camera raw tab it's possible to change color space to bmd-film or you can convert the footage to Cinelog if you have bought that. Now I wonder what the proper way to use LUTs on LOG footage is? And which way that is correct when grading raw, keeping the colorspace rec709 or LOG like Cinelog??
