Hello, I was playing around with 10 bit and 12 bit (1st time testing them so I think I missed a lot)
Using version of july03. on a 6D.
There is something that I think I missunderstood, wanted to shoot in 10 bit so I could go higher with the resolution, but I couldn't  get higher than 1823*1029 on the 6D, instead I got 7 seconds of filming.
Usually on the 14bit (of the nightly build) I could film between 5-6 seconds. So I thought it wasn't a big deal.
tried the 14 bit of the experimental build i couldn't get to 4 seconds. any Idea why?
I tried to install the nightly build again , I was able to shoot 5-ish. why is there a difference between the two 14 bits?
note that I'm filming the same subject in all the tests.

And my other question is if I choose 10 bit is there a way to film with higher res and instead of more seconds?
Thanks

Hey,

I have successfully installed and using ML on my 6D, however there is a glitch every few seconds whilst in the ML menu, it glitches between the ML menu and live view and a couple of Canon menus, without me doing anything.

Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

Thank you
This is normal when ur live view is on this happens. To fix it simply turn off live view before entering ML menu

Thanks for the reply Garry,

the problem im facing is i cant use the holy grail wizard because otherwise, i would loose the post-deflicker group of XMP files. And thats not an issue i just uncheck the exposure2012 column and thats alright.

the problem resides where creating keyframes in LRtimelapse dont appear in Lightroom

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1whvX7ElUOpdDZZQXZaX3BjYkk
You need to uncheck the exposure 2012 in LRTimelapse before saving the animated curves or doing the initial keys.
1st bring to lightroom, use the ml deflicker then use LRTimelapse to do the keyframes, same Metadata, do your modification in lightroom and when u return to create the animated curves, uncheck "exposure 2012"

For those of you that didn't know...
10 bit and 12 bit raw recording is now available on 6d, with working live view  :D

10 or 12 bit gives lower data stream which makes it possible to have longer recording times or use higher resolutions with the same recording time as before in 14 bit.
For example:
1728 x 724 resolution (1:2.39 aspect ratio) x 25 frames per second in 10 bit should give continuous recording
1728 x 972 resolution (16:9 aspect ration) x 25 frames per second in 10 bit gives about 20 seconds recording time

Happy testing  ;)
Great been a while haven't checked the progress on this. Thanks for the update!

Is it available for Canon 5D classic?
As the first post reads "most cameras" that does not mean all Canon cameras, right? What about the old 5d?
It's no longer maintained but there's a working build available here check it out

Ps: Not sure if the dualiso module works on it though.

Thanks for your response Walter.....damn, I have to wait for a long time before  ML team upgrade the software to work with fm 1.1.7.
I might have firmware 1.1.6 backed up on my pc. I'll let you know tonight if I still have it

Please, you should approach this according to the development plan of the whole product and focus on best parts. Everyone who will come explore magic lantern do so because of ability to encrease dynamic range using dual-iso, that is still not finished properly. More like a toy than professional instrument. Its sad that programmers who developed this do not wish to optimize this for production use.
@xorpi before you start acting all bossy and blaming magic lantern for your unsatisfied photos, start small with the stuff that u can fix. Maybe, I don't know, work on your stamping for example in your post-process...

So the conclusion is: you are a troll, and with your posts you are only making the developers to waste their valuable time. And you are using this forum to insert links to your photo galleries, advertising yourself for free.
You are not apporting anything good to this comunity, so don't expect to receive any consideration or any help here.

This is the last time that I waste my time also, replying to your messages.

Raw Video / Re: noise in video
June 30, 2016, 07:55:44 PM
I don't know how it is on the 5dIII but on a 6D I don't go higher than 1600 ISO (3200 if really needed but it's a bit risky and u might get lost of artifacts and noise). After that u need to post process ur videos, here u have lots of softs and lots of workflow, I convert the mlv to dng using mlrawviewer then process them in resolve or sometimes raw therapee and after that I do the editing in premier.
You can find lots of other workflow in the forum or even on google.
Hope this helps

Which settings do you use for intervalometer? By default Intervalometer and FRSP are configured to use the same trigger (half press shutter) which won't work that well (or at all). Try using "Leave menu" Intervalometer trigger instead.
Great Yeah that worked perfectly! Thank you

Link to a1ex' comment would be just fine. I have no idea what you are trying to do. Please explain in detail.
I meant if we wanna see the dng files we took, is it possible to visualize them in file manager?

Hello,
Been trying the full resolution silent pictures for the 1st time and I've got few questions that I need some help with.
*1st @a1ex said in one of the comments that we can read the dng files if I remember well, but I wasn't able to do so even if the module was activated. I'm probably doing something wrong.
*I couldn't make it work with intervalometer, any help would be great!  And also there was something that I didn't get well Alex advise us to do 10-15 sec of interval coz it's slow to save the photo in dng, but it doesn't take that long it takes between 2-3 seconds (Canon 6d) is it for security? The way I tried it is taking one picture after another manual by pressing the shutter twice whenever I get black screen... It that ok?
Thanks in advance for ur help

Hi all,

Im running magiclantern-Nightly.2016Jun13.6D116 and Im not getting global draw when in live view, I noticed when I turned on crop marks, I dont get any crop marks or zebras at all, from what I can tell it should be turned on, is there some other setting i may have turned on that conflicts ?
or is it not working in this build?

I checked the bug tracker and couldnt see anything..

It's working fine in this build, have u checked if it's turned on in the settings? Do u have magic zoom on?

Excellent work and that 6D is rather quite a workhorse. Details are sharp especially with the 12mm shots. Love the color grade and what exactly was your workflow on this one @keepersdungeon?

The hyperlapse surround the plane was epic!

Thank you @deafeyejedi.
Yeah the samyang lens is great! It's one of my favorites.
I used mlrawviewer to export to dng.
Graded in davinci resolve and created an online/offline workflow with Adobe premiere for the final edits.

I really like how you cut the plane footage. Out of interest was the shot around the plane a sped-up glidecam or a time lapse on a slider?

Cheers,

Mark.
Thanks!
It's was a small hyperlapse :)

Thanks! it does :)

Modules Development / Re: MLV Lite
May 26, 2016, 09:20:37 AM
This is excellent! I saw that @A1ex was working on another version as well.
Got a bit confused though which one to use. Is anyone of these included in the nightly built? Or should I add it manually.
If I understood well does it mean we can rec more frames and go up with the resolution a bit more?

Is anyone able to find/use the Dual ISO in Photo mode of canon 6D?  Thank you very much
Install nightly build, go to module and activate it from there, restart the cam should be good

Hello, guys. I rendered my raw footage in mov with c-log, but after rendering it in premiere i have horrible gradients. With dng i have not got this problem, but i love c-log so much, that its important to get such image. So may be you can tell how i can got this LUT for adobe products or may be i can do smht to render dng in mlrawvier with c-log? Sorry for my english, hope smb can help me)
What's the settings u're using to export them from premiere?

Hello,
I have a quick question about expo Override and exposure sim.  If I remember well when I used them before and blow up my parameters the live view mode gets really overexposed. But recently I found that the module works at a certain normal value and when it starts to get over exposed it kinda gets clamped to the latest value.
For example if I put 30' iso 6400 in a good light condition room is the same at I put 2' and 800 iso.
Did I mess up something? Or it has always been like that and I'm just hallucinating? Or it's a bug?
Thanks in advanced for ur reply
