But rate is only on 5D3. On 5D2 I think Set would be ok. But also the DOF-Button would also be perfect for me. I never use that.
INFO/DISP isn't good to reach.

This is really the next big feature...but as platu already noted, just doesn't get the same excitment as RAW. I think its because its not as comprehensible.

I've got a question on the RAW histogram. So as I understand, before that the histogram was created from a jpg-like presentation...so you didn't get an idea of the headroom which you are able to recover in the shadows / highlights. Is it right, that now in the RAW histogram it shows the whole range of information? That would be so much better. ^^

Some ideas on that feature:

Auto ETTR needs just a little bit of time, is it already optimized for speed? Maybe it would be helpful when there is a indicator that the Auto ETTR "has just set the values". Like a beep or something.

Any chance to get it working in other modes than M? Like C-Modes? It would be great having a mode reserved just for Auto ETTR.

It only alters the shutter speed and iso values. Perhaps it would be reasonable to set in the options which value should be calculated.
At the moment: Aperture uncalculated + iso / shutter calculated

Wouldn't it also be great to have the Auto ETTR on the *-Button (exposure) in M-Mode? Then you really don't need to toggle the feature when you want to use it or not.

@  Yoshiyuki Blade
So you mean its a feature not a bug? But that wasn't till this build. Didn't it show the real recording-area in 5x-mode before?
Is this a new "feature"?

Global Draw is On. When its Off its not happening.

It seems to occur only after I record in RAW the first time after booting. After that whenever RAW is on and I zoom to 5x it is b/w and kind of weird.

@ a.d.

thx!
tested the new ETTR feature. really nice.
but back to RAW. I got an issue with the current build. when RAW is switched "on" and I zoom to 5x the LV does some weird things and shows a black/white image. at 10x its normal.

It already works, but you can't exceed the resolution of regular DNG silent pics.

(well, you can if move the zoom box around and stitch a few pics...)

@ a1ex
Wasn't that an option with the old silent picture mode? I mean that would be really great having it as an option.
Like 2x2 shots (in 5x zoom mode) each time the camera triggers a timelapse shot (like every 4 secs). With a little overlap for getting it easily aligned in post. The best thing would also be 4 different RAW-containers for each quadrant. What do you think?

RAW Silent Pictures need to reach the next step for better timelapse! :-D

@ powerpc
Really nice! Helps a lot. That was exactly what I had to do each time. Put the raw-file in a folder and drop the raw to raw2dng to get the dngs in the folder. Now its so much simpler. Also nice to have the info.txt. But I think it would also be helpful to have the resolution and fps in the folder-name? like "M0000001_1920_720_29667" for 1920x720 and 29.667fps

@ dashv
The Door Switch is right above the CF-insert (5D2 here). It is pushed by the door flap.

@ Peter
You are german yourself right? Me too.

If I can help in some way ... language-related or testing parts in germany (I'm a 5D2-owner) then let me know.

Isn't there a 19th May build around? I'm a little bit addicted to those builds lately. ^^
My last build is from the 17th May.

And what about the 5D2? Not necessary in this test?

Yeah, that would be great.
It would be helpful to know at what speed the internal controller of the 5D2 reaches its peak. Or isn't that the case?

@ t2scorp
Do you also have a 600x or 800x card?

@ Pat1
A brief guide to get the right version that worked for me:

I took the latest nightly for the 5D2
Obsolete builds removed.  Please use official nightly builds //Audionut

Then you need the RAW Module and just put it on the card
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5247.msg34569#msg34569
In ML you need to load the module under the "M" register.
You now have the "RAW Video" button in the video register.

Has it been already tested whether a very fast (Komputerbay 1000x) Card even brings any advantages over slower Cards (around 600x) in the 5D2?
I'm just trying to find the cheapest card that is fast enough for not getting any limitations. Or isn't that already clear at the moment (in terms of upcoming possibilities)?

Very nice guys.
Now, I can be proud again on having a Canon-DSLR ... but those words surely aren't ment for the canon engineers but for you fellows. :-)
