Well, well, well I am kinda confused, wouldn't there be by any chance some kind of tutorial to follow ? Because I am kinda lost to be honest.
How can I create a lua script that basically change me from photo to video mode   and set different shutter speed and aperture ?

EDIT : Oh okay I got it  ! Nice, I got it looking in the config files in Prefs, I am gonna try it out.

Okay I am gonna check that out, thank you guys.

Hey,

I often shoot videos and fotos of the same subject, and I have to switch all of the settings every time (go in menu, change the mode to Photo ExpSim, then change shutter and aperture...).
I know there is the setting preset but I find it a bit inconvenient because when you switch for it if you're still in video mode, the shutter can't go under 1/33th of second, and sometime it gives ma the wrong temperature of color (from yesterday for instance).
So by any chance would there be a way to switch in one click ? That would be a huge time saver, to be honest.

Thank you.

General Help Q&A / How to autofocus in video

Hey,

It's been one year I've been using Magic Lantern, and I never found out how to autofocus when I'm in movie mode. When I press the shutter button, it just shows me on the screen the framerate and a bunch of other informations, how can I make it it to focus to the point I want to please :) ?

Thank you

General Help Q&A / Remove beep sound

Hey,

Today I decided to update the magic lantern version of my 5d mark II that was 9 months old, so've put  the build of : 2016-05-06, and well I didn't see much change except the apperance of a really annoying beep sound when I would press the button to zoom in the picture in LiveView, is there a way to completely remove any beep sound please :) ?

Thanks for the quick answer DeafEye Jedi ;) ! Really appreciate it ^^

Okay so for 1) you do tell me, I will have more room to color correct with DNG ? Just to be sure :p because I don't want to waste hard drive space for nothing
2) I did not forgot to load a 3D LUT, that's odd because I can activate 1D LUT, but not 3D, nothing happen when I press shift + UP (it is up arrow right ?) (maybe that's due to the fact I have an azerty keyboard, I don't know)
3) Unfortunately, I am not on a mac, I tried MLV converter and the results seems decent, but that would be better if I could have immediate HDR video (even not merged) instead of DNG.

Since you are a really nice guy that answers quickly and correctly ^^ I have an other quick question : there is absolutely no difference between Dual ISO for video and HDR video, these are just 2 names for the same effect right ;) ?

Increase clarity (clarity is like contrast but only effects the mid range of the image.)

Be carefull about clarity, it gives a really ugly sliver look to skin.

Hey,
1) if I export in .MOV rather than DNG format I will have less information to color correct after right ?
2)  Shift UP/Down does not add any 3D LUT, do you know how to fix it please ?
3) If I render HDR RAW on to DNG will I be able to merge correctly my footage after ? Same if I render to .MOV ?

Hi,

I  have been having Magic Lantern on my 7D for 6months now and today I just got a 5d Mark II.
I immediately installed the nightly build : 2015Jan29.5D2212 on it. But for some reason I always get an underexposed image in LiveView with Exposure Simulation in Movie.
I tried to reset the canon setting and ml settings but nothing work. If I disable Exposure Simulation, the picture gets exposed the way I want it but then I can't change the aperture and do not have access to numerous ml features.

Can anybody help me ? I feel it's nothing complicated to fix but for some reasons I can't figure it out...

Tim
