what are min system requirements for working with ml raw dng files from canon 50d or other video work? I was thinking of using lightroom for grading and editing offline then grading. is that possible. can i get away with core2duo and 4g of ram?

my 50d overheats just by sitting in liveview after 30 minute. I assume this is normal and once i install ml and start recording raw it won't last past 5 minutes. I was thinking of placing a cpu heatsink and a pc fan underneath it. I've heard some people use icepacks, i assume dry ice. Can anyone comment on ideas or experiences. if one had 2 bodies i don't believe 5 minutes of rest in between each one would be sufficient to not cool it .

Also, can you guys specify min pc requirements to edit raw? does one create offline edit then come back in lightroom and grade only the final edited footage?

so are you saying in liveview trapfocus will work , fire the shutter and in continuous rapid mode?

I shoot weddings with long lenses and need to get razer focus down the aisle at varios moments. I heard about this trap focus and wanted to investigate. Can I use pentax k lenses with the canon 50d? I assume i must have an adapter that has a chip? My plan was to set the focus 6 feet infront of the bride then let ML detect the focus and rapid fire a few shots?(is that possible or is it just 1 shot?) 
Then i want to repeat the process, focus another 6 feet infront and wait for trap focus to fire the photos. Basically i want to have several of these during the 70 feet or so walk of the bride, groom etc.. Will this work? Is it just one shot or can it be multiples?

at 79MB/s i can record 2176 x 906 resolution at 2.67:1 aspect ratio.
79MB/s is below the 80MB/s limit of the 7d so, does that mean i should be getting continuous recording?

walter, yeah its just a start to play around with a few photos, and magic lantern. i will be working with 32gb lexars.

i heard some rumour that you can override the frame rate on the 50d to at least 35fps and some have said 40fps. can 50d users confirm any of this please.

in brazil things are much more expensive. yes i ment 128mb card, but only for first install. As i understand, you can later install ml on 32gb cards later or larger. So can i install ML on 128mb card or should i just wait and do it with 32gb cards?

 I wanted to do an install and start playing with photos at least and the menu. can't afford a 32gb card at the moment and was wondering if its safe to install with a 128mb sandisk card?

has anyone tried to get this frame rate out of the canon 50d and then conform it to 24 for semi slow mo?

can someone tell me why my liveview image auto  adjusts exposure as i pan it around ? i don't have ml installed yet. is this a camera feature i have to disable?

can trap focus be used with pentax k smc lenses like a 28mm f2 fully manual lens on a canon 50d ? do i need an adapter that has focus detection or electronic interface?

all of these videos i see color fringing, believe its also called moire. So how come the video Group6  on page 22 of this thread don't have this color fringe?

thanks. that helped a lot. so according to the calculator i can do 1984 x 844  2.35:1 in crop mode writing at 67.1MB/s.
And if i wanted non crop max rez is 1568 x 668 2.35:1 at 24fps? Can you please confirm those? so 1 x 1 sampling is always crop mode?

will dual iso video mode work with any other camera other then 5dIII?

how much dynamic range do you think you get using dualiso ml without taking more then one shot?
also, is it possible to do dualiso in raw video mode on the 50d? is it possible to stich photos if you have a human on the far left or far right of a horizontal photo?

I just saw videos from this guy. he claims he is using non crop mode. why is his image so clean?
