Hello A1ex,

I am a mad microminerals stacker, like pontop and many others, and would like taking HiRes silent pictures using Helicon Remote / Helicon Focus since this app is quite effective on this kind of work.

I have ask for generating a "half shutter" signal instead of usual shot signal and the editor seems OK to implement this possibility. Seing the numbers of body I alone burnt in stacking, I guess it may increase the number of ML users :)

The software works on Linux, Mac, and Win., and is thetering using USB.
Would generating a "half shutter" signal would be OK?
Please would you mind kindly explaining exactly the right way to make it working?

Best regards
Pierre

Hello,

Testing the wonderfull silent picture mode using 70bv6 (Thanks, Alex).

I am afraid not succeded saving a Hres in DNG or MLV format.
The shutter (shot) did not works, idem with half-S but using the intervalometer and half-S two times after an AF ack seems working and display a message "set picture quality to RAW" but nothing is recorded on the SD card. -> Hi-Res is not working (DNG or MLV).

Using "simple" resolution works (using the intervalometer and half-S two times after an AF ack) works in both picture format.

Still testing.

Cheers

QuoteThat was the stubs test.
When you load adtg_gui it will show-up on debug menu. Let me know if it shows up / activates and prints lots of stuff...

It works fine.

Nikfreak thanks for those good news !!!!

SML 123: This is an alpha so we all know the risks (see Nikfreak, and ML warnings). Why using reference 60D ???

I am wheeling to take full resolution silent pictures remotely via USB (in order to avoid wearing the shutter with lot of shots for stacking) ... this goal seems a lot easier than yours :)

Good luck

Congrats nikfreak  8)

Wish you all the best with your new Friend.

I am a newbee on this so my question maybe is trivial.
Is it possible to have the 70D shot only with electronic shutter like the 40D , 50D or 5D2 does and now many Olympus or Sony Cameras?
Timelapse use a lot of shutter actuation so it would be great not having mechanical movment for shotting: it would save a lot of the 70D's lifetime.

Cheers,
Pierre
