Hi all I'm new to this forum.
I tryed 20 (I have a new Eos-m with 2.0.2 firmware) or more times to do this steps above but after the upgrade process I see a color lines for less a second and Camera turns to normal manual mode.
Can anyone tell me how to sure install ML on my camera?
Thanks for the answer and excuse me if the question has yet posted (I made a search but I didn't find nothing).
Tomas

@ atomas72:  Best is to use the link #1110 on side 45 - Rootwang compiled all you need and it worked for me.

I've made a zip file with all you need for installing on 2.02 firmware magic lantern, with the last firmware installer that 1 % posted, For me it worked and bootflagged. I don't know if i'm supposed to do this but there is a lot of people asking. If i'm doing wrong you can delete the post!

P.s. sorry if my english is not perfect!!  :)

Thanks Rootwang - it helped a lot and it works on my M  :)

My EOS-M is already bootflagged, but if this works, it would be a good idea to put it in the first post along with the rest of the update.

+ what Canon eos m asked - thats what I mean ... it´s getting confusing what file to use when and how. Espescial for people who do not follow and/or do not understand the whole thread every day.
If someone could compile a set (kind of Alpha 2) with all the latest and still working files in one zip-set it would be a huge help. At least for me.

Good news 1%!
It would be great if someone could combine all the needed and latest files in one zip now for download. It would make things much easier for people like me who get confused by these long installation explanations but are willing to test. Especialy for people who do not speak english perfect.
Is that possible?

Is there any place with instructions in one place for this version? I have picked up things here and there on posts like two finger click to get into the menu. Or am I best just to go through the main ML docs?

There is no instruction for these kind of versions - only for the official once. But the main docs will help you to understand many features.

Well first I want to fix the installer...

Yes - that sounds like a very good idea! I guess it will help trying and testing the functions of ML on the EOS M without being irritated by just geting it to work somehow.  :)
Anyway ... it´s still fantastic to read how much efford you put in your ML work. Thanks!

Hi,

If I have 2.0.2 firmware version will the current version of Magic Lantern work ?

No - you have to wait till 2.0.2 is supported. We all hope it wont take long.

Btw, is anyone working on putting ML on the 2.0.2 firmware? :P

Good question- I´m still acting with 1.0.6 because I need zebra and focus peak all the time but would love to have the faster focus too. Anyway - the day will come I guess. :)

Hi - thanks for working hard on the EOS M which acts very good together with my 600d. :D
Will there be audio funktions too, like external/internal mic and audio out for example? Do you have any idea when the next official ML Version incl EOS M will be available?

Would be great to control taken shots!

Everything seems to be fine with audio/600d now - but I agree ... it would be good if we could hear and check what we recorded. Actualy this is very important.
Thanks for your great work so far - I´ll donate again soon! :)

Is there a newer version then "autoexec10" already? I may have a little time for testing next week.  :)

I used tons of different lenses since I bought the 550d and today the 600d.
Now my set is perfect for my usage which is most filming (also professional use). You can see down here what lenses did stay with me at the end. There are some "better" ones if you invest much more money but to tell the truth - non of my clients ever realized a difference when I was using the canon ums department for example.
Really good lenses are the Tamron ones - both of them. But especial the 17-50mm for normal use and on top because of the 3x zoom function in the 600d if you use the film modus.
Most of the lenses have their good and their bad sides - the sigma 30mm 1:1,4 for example isn´t very good (sharp) in the corners but this doesn´t matter at all if the (sharp) object you want to film is in the center - which means 99% of all pictures I make with it. And so on ...
You can read interesting informations about all lenses and more here:

Do you have this tool also for Final Cut Pro 7 or could you modify it?
Still Pro X is not realy used in the professional film editing scene. We still work with the older version and think about what to do - other companies already changed over to premiere or whatever - are you pleased with Pro X?

Now I found a short time to check the test release (7) - great work!

But I found that the audio out could be a bit louder and I also felt that there were too much high frequencies. I tested it with different Headphones using the org. canon cable + adapter.
Using the digital department I couldn´t hear any difference when I pushed L/R over 0 - even +7 didn´t really push the volume.

I may have done something wrong because there was only short time -  I wanted to mention it anyway.
But it´s is a great step forward! :)

Does any other problem available??? Feel free to post any bugs. and you can feel free to ask questions.

Would love to test it too but I have to work with my 600d for a few days - just no time to do it and I have to stay with the stable release 2.3 till the job is done.
But - thanks for all the afford you did put into this miyake and all the others!!!  :)

I need a lot of time for writing English(lol .
I got 2 reply during writing this document. First, I replay to Alex.

Miyake - your english seems to be much better than mine (hamburg germany) - anyway, I very much respect your work on the 600d audio and that´s what matters most - thanks!  :) :D

I agree with 1% in that we should not "dumb down" the audio functions to match the capabilities of the previous camera models. The current 600D audio function set would provide a basis for next-gen camera audio functions with modern audio processors. I have been following this thread closely and am very impressed with the work that you're doing. Thank you!!
I just love to read this thread too and realize how hard you all work on this matter... it´s a kind of thriller for people like me, desperately waiting for audio control ... thanks!

Yeah, I´m very impressed too - just great work so far and I can´t wait to use the final solution!!! You´ll get it done!
I will donate again the moment I have it in may hands - or better in my 600d  :)

I don´t understand a word ... but it sounds to me that you are on the right way to realize audio on the 600d.  :)

ML made my 600d ready for around 90% of my professional and nearly 100% privat DSLR film work.
We also use others like the 5d or camcorders in our film company in Hamburg North Germany but most of the time I use the 600d with ML - easy and flexible to use without an external monitor, cheap (so there is not this much panic left to ruin the DSLR under rough conditions) and - with ML nearly all the features I need (accept audio).

Thanks!

I can´t find any way to vote on the download side.
Anyway, I guess many people  will like it if you always support the newest models. Actually the 5d martk3 and 650d.
But also many people don´t want to buy a new model every year. I think it would be good first to work on the existing models to make it  perfect and then ...
On the other side the new models may give you ideas how to solve older prolbems like the audio on the 600d - as long as you don´t forget the older ones I´m fine with you working on the latest products. Just go on like you did before ... great! :)

I would wish that the ML community would support alex with one piece of every canon model - this would make things easier for him and help the whole canon filmer/user community.
Let´s see it this way - for example with a 600d:
If every 600d user who uses ML gives him 10 $ or € it needs only around 70 people to solve this problem. This could work for every model.
I would go with it immediately ...
So, is there anybody around who´s interested?

I´m using the 600d for most of my professional film work here in germany instead of the 5d mark2 which I use too from time to time. The quality of the pictures the 600d offers is far good enough for around 90% of all my filming situations.
The 600d is still much more flexible and faster with it´s great monitor - the 5d is only usable in studio situations or with much more afford like external monitors and so on. Very strange that canon still didn´t use this system for the mark3! Seems like it´s not professional to be flexible.
So the daily work goes on with my baby the 600d.

But the only problem ist still that I can´t hear and control what the audio side does. If you ever get this done ... Great, Great!!! ... and the 5d will always stay where it should be - in the studio.
Anyway, many thanks for what you did till now for all canon filmers and please don´t stop working on the 600d audio. I´m shure you´ll find a solution soon.
All the best!
