I recently tried to test dual ISO and pictures on my 5Dm3 were similar to that. But they were ok after dual ISO was switchet off.

Hi all,

I'm having trouble downgrading my firmware from v 1.3.3 to v 1.2.3.  I've tried Sridev's method (I found his youtube tutorial) but for some reason when I try the firmware selection is greyed out in my EOS set-up menu window and I am unable to change it or downgrade it.  I'm on Mac OS X v 10.9.5 and have tried multiple versions of Canon's EOS utility (EOS Utility, EOS Utility 2 & EOS Utility 3)  Does anyone know how to solve this puzzle?  thx!
Switch to photo mode M. You must be in video.

New 5D Mark III are coming with 1.3.3 canon firmware. There's no any problems. You can downgrade to 1.1.3 or 1.2.3 to install Magic Lantern.

Yes, we are. It confused CF (user). It was confusing to me. Thought to highlight this to eliminate confusion. Good day!!! No more running in circles!

Yes. Who tells otherwise?

It is stated on nightly builds page for 5D3 1.1.3.
#35
Yes, but thats not the point. Point is you cannot instal ML 1.1.3 on canon firmware 1.2.3.

I don't get WHICH Nightly to download. ON 5DMKIII under the 113 firmware it states that I cannot use the install package for first installation. And asks me to download and install the 123 firmware...
So which is it.... There are two 5DMKIII download options... 113 and 123. 113 states that I should download 123. But 123 has not been updated since 2014-08-07 00:01:30 +0200 -- whereas 113 is the most reason one from this February...

I would really like some input here... And perhaps someone could go about changing the highly misleading information on the nightly downloads section...

Thanks

1.1.3 ML is to be installed on 1.1.3 Canon firmware only (and not on 1.2.3 Canon firmware)
Just follow this link for first install:
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=2602.0

and then copy paste from nightly!

Yes, I can see what what was the reason of confusion. I just want to highlight this to ML web admins attention: Nightly build for 1.1.3 really says "to install ML, please upgrade to (Canon) Firmware 1.2.3." ?

I've seen videos of Paul Beauchamp on the forum using Cinelog - Koji combination and thought I would give it a try as well.
I'm really pleased with the result.

Tech Specs:
Canon 5D Mark III (24-105mm f4L, IS), Magic Lantern Raw
1920x1080@30fps (1856x1044@30fps stretched), aspect ratio 2.40:1
Davinci Resolve: BMD Film - Cinelog - Koji Rec709 2383 - DNxHD

Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: "Screen Tear" issue
February 20, 2015, 02:50:28 PM
I had this when shooting raw on my 600D. However it never happened on 5D Mark III.
Yes, as Paul said, it feels its more related to hardware.

550D is much better vs GH3 in my opinion. Great variety of lens choce and better color science from Canon. ML on top of that and the rest is up to your creativity. If you want a real upgrade then save a bit more and buy GH4 if resolution is what matters to you. GH4 doesn't do raw. If you need raw BMPCC could be an option. It is cheap and it does raw 1080p. Downsides - battery life, dinamic range and m43 sensor.

Thank for checking!  On 1.2.3 1856x1044@30fps records about 40seconds on x1066 CF.

Try September 12, 2014 nightly.

This has been asked once too many times.

I've tested along with most of us as well on both firmwares and confirmed that latest nightly 113 has slightly longer recording times than 123.

There's a good reason why RAW and 113 still exists... Thanks @a1ex for that!
What is the highest width and height (16:9) you get continuous 30 fps with 1.1.3?
I get continuous 1792x1008 with 1.2.3. Both with x1000 and x1066 CF cards. I just want to know if difference is worth downgrading.

And what a customer service! Worth every dollar spent!

Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for REC 709 to Cinelog C LUT!!! I did a quick test already and loving the results. Rec 709 to Cinelog C is giving flatter image than VisionLog which is exactly what I needed.
You definitely need to include this into LUT Bank. This would be a big help to match footages from different sources as well whether RAW or not.
#45
Hi Andy,

I've tried to bring them back to log using  visionlog lut, which is giving me pretty good results.  I thought, if you already have something like that, I would give a try since I wanted to try LUTs from Cinelog LUT Bank.

This should help with converting to DNGs.

You don't need to use FPS overide if it's from 25 to 24. You better convert it in post.
I think it was set as optimize for low light.
#47
I have video files exported to DNxHD, dngs and raw files deleted. I want to bring them back to log and re-grade or apply/try different LUTs.

Hi Andy,

Just purchased Cinelog-C for Resolve. Is there any Rec 709 to Cinelog-C LUT?

With the 5d III in my pocket, there is nothing in the specs that sounds interesting, at least regarding the price tag. No must have feature, it is a still camera with some video features. Ok, would be nice to have, but nothing more. I love my canons, the mood, the colors, but they missed the train somehow. Other companies did better, so I'm not sure if my next camera would be a canon.
Agree, they probably don't realize that sales on 5D Mark III is solely due to ML RAW.

Yeah, heard that rumor. Was supposed to be Feb-March, actually. Feel like that's not gonna happen, now.
Canon really wants 5D to be regarded as a photo cameras, to protect it's cinema line cameras.
