Ah, excellent, thanks!

Interesting - so why does this occur? Why does ML not apply the shutter speed I choose at Low FPS? i.e. 1/60 or 1/50 or 1/48 etc?

Hi Folks

Quick question - I've been merrily using ML for 8 months now and very much enjoy this fine piece of free loveliness. However, I've never been able to use a low FPS rate to achieve time-lapse. This simply results in huge over-exposure. This even occurrs in manual mode. The shutter-speed I specify seems to be over-ridden, regardless of what I try.

I have had this issue on the various builds I've been using, mostly from February this year. Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks
Andy

Yes, ensure the "automatically match timeline with media pool" option is selected BEFORE adding media to your pool. Selecting after you have added media will not have an effect, unless you remove and then re-add your media.

ALSO

Davinci can be a funny beast, and you may need to create a timeline in the Edit window. This should happen by default but I find occasionally (probably due to me being not very knowledgable) I have to create a timeline.

Hardware and Accessories / DSLR Rig recommendations
March 24, 2014, 05:07:38 PM
Hi All - I want to buy a rig for my Canon 50D, mainly so I can use a follow-focus. I see that Kamerar producuts are well thought-of, does anyone have any recommendations or advice?
Thanks

Yes there is a vague sort of logic as to why this is occurring. The issue only manefests in lower-light situations, and it's almost like the camera is trying to boost the brightness of the Liveview image by cranking open the aperture, but presumably "exposure sim" overrides that in order to accurately present the exposure. *shrugs*

By the way, if anyone cares, the Sigma 35mm f1.4 is an amazing lens!!

Thanks again.

Interestingly the issue stops manifesting when I enable "exposure simulation". Not clear what the link is exactly!  Thanks for your input so far guys. The lens is a Sigma 35mm f1.4 'A' series.

Hi All, I've been frustrated by an issue that I have been unable to solve. When shooting RAW, in manual mode (manual ISO, shutter & aperture) I am finding that the exposure is still being adjusted in response to changing brightness. This results in undesirable changes in brightness in the captured video. I'm really not sure how this is happening. I am shooting at 24fps. Can anyone shed some light (boom boom) on this? Is this something that is more prevalent under low lighting conditions, for example? Many thanks in advance!

Default ML settings other than enabling the RAW module and FPS override to 24fps.
