Thanks Chmee for implementing the chromasoothing!

Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade my DSLR from a 650D, not really sure what the best next camera is? 7D? I'd like to be able to record RAW in a higher resolution than 1476x626 as the 650D limits at 32mb/s (95mb/s Sandisk). Could anyone shed some light on a worthy upgrade?
Thanks!
Quote from: Jacu on May 19, 2014, 11:07:22 AMNope, but chromasoothing seems to solve the pink dot problem regardless of resolution.
Hi all!
First of all, big thank you to the whole team for doing such a great job on developing magic lantern for canon 650D. It is good to know, that you don't have to have canon 5D to be part of the community
I do have a quick question: is it possible to remove pink dots from the 50fps footage from 650D? I managed to record a 30-sec clip on 50fps (720) but because the footage is squashed the pink dot remover seems to fail to remove the dots. Or is it possible to resize the dng's to the right resolution and then process it with pink dot remover?
It would be a bomb to have the possibility of shooting short clips with 50fps.
Big thanks in advance!
J.

Hey everybody!
Sorry for leaving the project a bit abandoned... I started coding it because I was on a 3 month holiday, and now I'm back! That and also that I don't quite see the point now con continuing until there's a command line for Cinema DNG's. Which are your workflows? Davinci Resolve? AE feels like too much time really...
I want to continue it, for now I don't have the time really... maybe I can add the update for Dual Iso which is really easy and takes 0 time... but it'll be nice really to have access to Cinema DNG's, because that's the way to go!
Cheers guys!!
Quote from: bastogne on April 14, 2014, 01:12:10 AMYou basically use them as a way to cut your footage in real time, then you can replace said footage with your ae raw files.
Thanks for your reply.
Some questions I still have - what does proxies do? I click on create proxy but nothing happen. Second, mind making a video of the steps using this programme? my footage right now looks crap, I am sure something went wrong in the workflow.
Quote from: tonybeccar on April 14, 2014, 02:35:20 AMI think out of all the post processing solution available for windows, yours is the best organized and most convenient. Once the proxie option gets fixed on windows 8 systems (atleast in my case) it will be the fastest way of getting something usable out of your camera and into an nle. It would also be sweet to be able to export only proxies. I appreciate your work and thanks!

To clarify: Proxies are not working properly, some problem with ufraw, will switch to Raw Therapee as someone recommended here. And the speed, that's mlv_dump guys! It is slow by definition, uses very little of the cpu. It does chroma smoothing and vertical stripe fix, that's great. Once I tried with mlv2dng which is amazingly fast, but it doesnt do audio so it was slower... and every now and then it crashed, so ended up dropping it.

Yeah, I just use a windows machine and format the card exFAT with 128 KB block size (only use this large block size with cards you will use raw video or else you will waste a lot if space).
See my ML RAW work flow videos here: https://vimeo.com/jamesdesira/
Quote from: GooDween on March 30, 2014, 09:25:41 AMI'm getting the same errors on windows 8.1
it can't create proxy on win 8?
only errors, dng files created.

Hi all,
Whoever is using Resolve and Premiere CS6, please holler back
Here's what i use/do: DNGs come from Tonybeccar's MLV Converter, imported in DaVinci Resolve for basic image adjustments (no sharpening applied at this stage), then i export some proxies and proceed in Premiere CS6. After the cut i go back to Resolve for final CC. Here's the deal: i don't have Resolve's Noise Reduction (free version) but i do have Neat Video for Premiere. How should i proceed in order to keep the current workflow, but apply Noise Reduction in Premiere?
I was thinking... export a high-res color corrected material on the first place from Resolve into Premiere, NR there and proceed with the cut, but sometimes you go for the final look after you have your final cut... so, a bit lost here... Any suggestions?
Thank you for your time/expertise, in advance... and have a fineee weekend
Quote from: Bassman2003 on March 19, 2014, 12:22:04 AMI think thats called "card spanning"?
Hello AleXis,
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was speaking towards having a bootable ML install on the SD card for the MKIII, not just general use.
Quote from: tonybeccar on March 25, 2014, 12:01:59 AMWish i knew how to help, other than reporting the results I'm getting.
Grr, still this bug. Will have to put a definite solution to it, it's in my to do list. But I think regardless of that error the programs keeps on going. It's an "interface" error regarding the progress bar. And the ufraw-batch thing, yeah it's done it a couple times for me.. it's not a good program it seems. But I gotta process the tiffs somehow for ffmpeg. I will try with nconvert and see how well it process the dng's. For now I get a pink cast all over the dng's, I can fix it with "autobalance" but it changes a lot of things i don't want. Any help would be appreciated!
Quote from: jaegersing on March 25, 2014, 03:11:39 AMfrom what I have played around with, the way you go back to auto is by doing it in the canon menu. So press "Q" and set your wb to auto.
I am using v2.3.NEXT.2014Mar11.650D104 and cannot find how to restore the WB setting to Auto. I have tried searching and the advice given (use the Q button to select Quick Menu, select the blank WB submenu and then use the top dial to adjust the WB back to Auto) does not work for me. The top dial does not change the WB selection, and anyway it is already showing Auto, but my ML menu is still showing a Kelvin number for WB.
Can anyone please help?
Richard
Quote from: blade on March 20, 2014, 03:22:36 PMI've been reading that it does 720p continuous in regular raw mode when formatted to exFAT. I returned my 80mb/s card and got a 95mb/s (might get a bmpcc soon). Does any one know if there are extra steps when formatting to exfat or do i just format it and proceed as usual?
as far as i know, you are out of luck, decrease the resolution and you will be fine.
