Is there a way to batch export MLV to PRORES in MLRAWVIEWER and how?
#3
There is something strange going with this program.

I have a green stuck pixel unfortunately in my footage. I hoped MLRAWVIEWER could map it out. When I use MLRAWVIEWER and toggle the vertical stipe /hot pixel fix, it maps out the hot pixel! BUT When I export to DNG it still exports the hot/stuck pixel. Pretty strange! Is there a way to fix this? Rendering with the hot pixel fix baked in the DNGs? Now only in the preview mode.

Who else has this problem?

Raw Video / Re: Black frames? Flickering?

Okay guys I did some testing with lower resolution:

Lower resolution no black or corrupt frames anymore. Guess the card is bottlenecking on me. But!

The battery grip is a problem too. I can record less frames with the battery grip attached. I also have less memory. More fps drop in preview mode (black and white).
The sensor is cooler with battery grip attached..

Weird.. Any battergrip users who encountered the same?

In think they are corrupted frames.. I'm getting distorted frames now.

I think it's the cheap chinese card. I will get a komputerbay soon and post more info involving this problem.

Thanks guys.

Hello, Im sorry!

I'm using the latest nightly build.
I'm using Felix 16GB 1000x UMDA 7 card
16:9 at max (continuously)
global draw live only

When I play the video in mlrawviewer I got black frames. The timeline stops when the black frames appears. But resumes afterwards.   Like eye-blinks

Raw Video / 7D raw = Weird aliasing!

Hello I got some really weird aliasing on my canon 7D MLV RAW..

Is this normal? Does the MLV makes the aliasing worse?

Will do chief. I really like the anamorphic desqueeze function as I shoot with anamorphic lenses 2x.

Hello I wonder if there is a fix for the vertical banding for canon 7D. I know there is a lot of topics about it but no concrete answers van be found.

I wonder if RAW has less banding then MLV? Is that statement true?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure thats the smartest piece of advice i've ever read...

The Reds native ISO is 800, thats where it performs best, the Canons native is at 100 and the native steps are 100, 200, 400, 800.
A colleague of mine liked 640 on the 7D too, but we've decided to be rather careful about it after looking at the DXO information about the camera.

"Low light performance" is a misnomer, its a non technical way to describe lots of different things. Lots of people have this obsession with tiny ISOs or clean files at stupidly high ones. Neither is totally smart. Dynamic range will be best at native speed settings, there should a be a good reason for not being there.

Remember that these days you can get rid of a bit of noise, you can't fix a badly lit scene, or recover a scene without sufficient dynamic range.

I'm aware of that. But I always keep my iso around 200 or 400. The 640 iSO on the 7D is really a workhorse for me.

Btw isn't te native iso for the scarlet 640?

the anamorphic adapter needs to be constantly adjusted and checked for proper alignment.

That's why you need to buy a square front anamorphic lens

2816x1156!

Amazing results! Cheers! I'm going to buy myself an anamorphic lens. It really looks like film!
