Guys, if you didn't known about that - very nice improvement in EOSM3: clean HDMI out! If you put your camera to manual focus to hide a focus box and switch layout mode with info button to clear the screen - you can get clean image without borders and gray frames. My setup includes hdmi2hdmi box, so, let me check it without this box today one more time just to be sure. I'm not sure about resolution too.
Hows the camera screen? Is it on or is it dark/black/without live view? :) if it is on, i'll buy some eos ms for live use. :D

FRSP should work fine for M in the branch since August last year, at least it did back then :)

EDIT:
Can we use the EF-M lenses like this one on EF/EF-S mounts?

No, you cant. This lens is designed for mirrorless cameras so flange distance is way shorter than mirror one. Eos M has same flange distance than sony mirrorless cameras.

Yeah, but they cost more than black market kidney. :D

But I really like C mount zoom lenses. I have 8-48 f1.0 and I using it when shooting gigs etc. It is parfocal, relatively sharp at f3-4 anf aparture ring is smooth.

But yeah, I am amateur and I heard also that fujinon and canon cine zooms are popular. :)

Movie crop mode makes for less noise and other weird stuff by just using the middle of the sensor.
It increases noise. It is true, I have tested it. Crop mode reduces aliasing and moire. because there is no lineskipping.

If you just shooting video,  consider buying Eos M. It is great video cam with 3x crop function. Eos M with 18-55mm kit lens cost around 200-230 € so it is not very expensive.  Im using eos M in glidecam (chinese copy..) and I really love it. I don't need any weighs to get it balanced. :)

It is called shutter bug. Just turn off and turn it back on quickly and vuala now it is possible to take pics. :)

OK, thank you! :)

Where can I download the latest TL build(can you put a direct link to the download)?
Is the installation process same as with the ML?

http://tl.bot-fly.com

It is the same. But I dont know is there any new features in later builds.

There are no audio functions. Eos M lacks of audio controls. I don't know but i'm using TL build and there is headphone monitoring. I don't know is it working or not. I bought zoom h1 and now I have proper preamps etc.

not sure if this is the right window but how possible is 4k h.264 video on the eos m :D

Impossible.  :D Never gonna happen.

If you considering to use on only video use, buy eos M. It is cheap (200 € + 50 € ef-m-efs adapter) and it has full time autofocus.  M is great at video, but autofocus is bit slow on photo mode and no tilty flip screen. :D

Eos M starts without ml card and can be used without ml card. But remember to switch overlays etc on, otherwise you don't see it.

Re. Atomos Ninja2 and EOS M.

I am soon a lucky Atomos Ninja2 owner, intended for my future 5DM3, but for learning purposes I will use it on the 60D. and... my M. My question is - will I be able to keep the M screen with ML live while feeding the HDMI output?

No. Unfortunately screen goes black.
#39
Eos M starts properly without ML. Sometimes I use eos M without ML (basic sd card), but is it dangerous? Camera boots up without any problem and works properly.
#40
Max hdmi output is only 1080 and it is very hard to hack it to 4k. (Not possible)
#41
This is called shutter bug. Or one option is to turn camera on and off quickly. This is known bug.
#42
48fps in 1080p would be so good. :) Good job keep it going!

I'm using ML with my 8-48mm f1.0 lebs with crop mode. I just love to use this lens, covers perfectly sensor in crop mode and it is great video lens. :)

But there is one bug. Camera don't start recirding in crop mode. It have to set to shutter button, then it starts recording properly.  :D

Share Your Videos / My first raw test (eos M)
May 12, 2014, 10:30:30 PM
Hi! I want to share my quick test.

Shot with 18-55 kit lens.
I'm just practising color grading and more cinematic editing, so it is not perfect. Also I'm gonna spent more time on editibg, this was done in 1 hour. 10min shooting and 20min editing/cc and 30min coffee drinking. :D

You are limited by the hardware, not the SD card.

Eos M is capable to write about 40mb/s. I have extreme pro and it writes about 38mb/s. :)

I also have  KB 600x card. I get same performance and I am disappointed. :(
#49
Make a hackingtosh. You get better performance in lower price.  :) or windows pc?
