i woud not get a 70D. for a simple fact sd card for raw_rec is slow. go buy 7D built like a Tank and has one of the fastest CF write speed controller. I would never trust auto focus. Its like driving Manual cars once you drive stick. you never go back driving automatic. Remember there is no Man in automatic.

so when i'm on shoot and running out of space on CF card. What device is there to quickly dump ( transfer to a mass storage drive?  right now i bring my netbook pc with 1TB drive to transfer my raw files. Netbook is small and does the job.


is there anything smaller.

Canon does this (many people think) because of a heating issue with the sensor. Being Canon you wouldn't want everyone breaking their cameras via overheating, and needing replacements.

ok from my understanding on canon dslr they are not able to pass 29.9 minute mark because they would be taxed as video gear ( i think some UK tax ) not sure. f you want to record longer then 30 minutes get a pro Vid Camera

if your using AE did you change import setting

is there any step by step setup using duel iso on 7D thanks i looked everywhere ( i know about installing i allready have in it in latest build but i meant how to use it )

want to shoot some HDR Images cant find it where is it or is it there. Yes i have the latest build for my 7d.

Because is practical, you dont need a ultrafast card, you can record audio, and it's ok for small projects. Sadly is not fixed yet

ya i get the whole practical thing. i still use it when i just want it i use a CF without ML and use canon default. its still great. but when u gotta have the footage where it matters then ML is where its at

I'm amazed by all the progress here! I got a question.. does the last 7D build work? I mean, can I record NORMAL h264 video out of it? Also, I'm really glad about all the bars facelift progress.. I saw a picture of 1% that he got it working pretty well.. is it there in that build? Is it up to date?

why would you want to do h264 video. wouldn't that be a step back

1920X1080 24fps getting 3500 frames until it skips.


I thin i need a bigger boat. Komputerbay 32GB 1000x not enough but i think i wont record in 5x until proper lv is fixed.

BTW will that be fixed or will zoomed video always be with us? I would like to see what i'm really shooting  thanks

like 1% said a cf is a must for raw. i have a 7D, which is and was a great DSLR long before ML was released for it. I think ML brought all canon DSLR to a whole new level. just gotta get audio rec working. well i just sync in post. With ML I think  it takes planning on any projects because the workflow in post is a bitch and takes a lot of time. " We choose to go to Magic Lantern not because its easy but because it is Hard.

mlv in my opinion is still too young in its development. Raw_rec on 7D with britom and 1% built i have yet to get a pink frame. I think i'll be happy now. I have  a few projects to work on and I will not shoot in MLV. not just yet

so went out and took a few footage not bad but need a bigger CF card 32GB not enough

1% so i got a 32 Komputer bay 1000X CF so its possible to format in exfat. instead of fat32? and if it supports in how do i format? yes i have window7 and reformatted in exfat then when into eoscard and installed aplha2  ( all the normal things to have a working ) but my 7d cant find it says card not supported. thanks again

question does 7d support exfat?

Audio question. How us quality. Or should I just be recording on external device and sync in post.?

nevermind just backup my current build and installed your new updated one. everything is working so far. havnt playd with crop zoomed mode. just wanted the latest built and work great.
