Chopeca, in video mode press "set" then the first icon in the top left selects between auto and manual.

Ant, is there any chance of getting an option to turn off Exposure Simulation any time soon on CHDK? Because I've got to return this thing otherwise.
#3
Yeah of course, I'm just wondering if you're still pursuing it or if it's fallen by the wayside.
#4
"Terminal and Box access is only available if you have an active subscription."

It doesn't look like this works anymore. Or am I missing something?
#5
I would still love to see this in the unified build some day. Are you still working on this at all?
#6
OK, thanks everyone. It does definitely work with exFat. I thought the 4GB limit could be neutralized with regular recording but I didn't research it enough.
#7
I have got my card formatted as exFat and have ML working but the video still stops automatically at 12 minutes. The only thing I can find about it is an old Tragic Lantern build. Is there any way to get past this while still keeping a nightly build?

The one or two posts I've found searching seem to be very outdated.

General Help Q&A / Re: exfat
May 04, 2015, 09:38:40 AM
I just want to add, because this is the first post that comes up on google that I had to do it a little differently.

- Copy ML files from SD card to computer.
- Format as exFat.
- Copy files back to the SD card.
- Open EOSCard, make sure the correct drive letter is selected.
- Click refresh.
- Click the big ML button.
- Then click save.

If I did it in any other order, like copying the files back onto the card after the EOSCard program, it wouldn't work. Even if it was formatted Fat32.

I did a t2i and an M1. What's weird it I did 13" on the M1 a few times and it always gives me a really short difference. I'm not sure if that means something about it lines up better so it goes faster or if it's not really 13 seconds...
#10
My M1 is doing the same back button focus thing with the 22/2 and with other lenses on the adapter. I can tell with my sigma lens that it just starts trying to focus then stops when the silent picture starts. Like less than 50ms probably.

550d works normally, both were downloaded tonight. The M1 is the March29 nightly.

edit: It works sometimes if I tap the screen each time but still not entirely consistent.

Sure, here it is with the old number in there and a little overlap. I can't get it much lower because my city doesn't seem to.

Feature Requests / Auto daylight savings
January 01, 2015, 09:14:37 AM
Is it possible for ML to read and write the date/time of the camera? If so it would be nice if there were an auto DST setting. These days so many things are set automatically it's not always easy to remember to change the camera time.

Rather than even having an interface maybe there could just be a text file with comma separated values and DST start/end dates entered in unix time or whatever ML can see them as. And a flag of some sort for each date to tell whether or not that change has already been made after that date. (I'm not sure if DST dates are the same everywhere.)

Anyway I am still struggling a little with ML development, I would be interested in any info pertaining to the possibility of this.

General Help Q&A / Re: Video light as internal flash
December 29, 2014, 06:38:57 AM
eBay and Amazon have many many very inexpensive LED video lights. Ring lights and all kinds of stuff.
Amazon ring lights
Amazon DSLR LED lights
eBay ring lights

The camera's flash is a strobe, it is simply is not designed to output continuous light.

A little weird. For the equation I took out the 162 because I think it was a fluke, it only registered 162 for a moment and I don't know if it was still there when I took the photo.

Modules Development / Re: Full-resolution silent pictures

I read though the entire thread so forgive me if I just missed it, but is it possible to fire flash with fullres silent? I don't see this specifically mentioned anywhere. I am still working on trying to compile it.

Duplicate Questions / Software manual focus mode?
December 22, 2014, 01:52:56 PM
I have a  550d and a lens that can be manually focused in auto focus mode and the manual/auto switch is messed up and really hard to switch. Is there by any chance a way to switch to manual focus with the camera rather than the lens? Basically, just tell it to not focus when I release the shutter? I don't believe there is anything in the stock firmware, and I can't find anything in ML, but maybe I missed something.

The problem is that camera shake is 99% rotation, not movement. Accelerometer data wont do much good to fix that. You would want a gyroscope, which is likely what that guy's device is using. An accelerometer is fine for detecting general orientation, but not really something that will be accurate enough to correct camera shake. Even if you went through the huge amount of trouble to translate that information it's not going to be nearly as useful as stabilizing video visually.

Any chance at getting a build for the 550D? I'd be happy to try testing it.

Thanks it works now.

I don't really know how to troubleshoot this any further.

Maybe just figure out the length of time to keep it under 3gb then write a module to restart recording at that time?

Build  2014-01-26 17:23:15 -0800 on 550D crashes when trying to "Q" in to Vignetting options, battery has to be removed. However everything is fine if I just switch Vignetting on. I don't know what build I was on last, but it worked maybe some time in Nov or Dec.

Thanks.

The camera comes with a cable to output composite.

Grab a BNC to RCA cable from radioshack. Or if you have time get it for pennies on amazon.

If it's not in the stable release this is at least in the nightly. Also if you have an android phone you could use it as an external screen for less than $20. Check out this app and the website in the description:
