Hopefully I can get the master to boot off the other repo with less updates. Then I can see what is happening to the registers/memory.

:D :D :D :D

uhm when directly converting to raw, you get the message about "in the middle" and when
writing to mlv, it just doesnt output any image?

that's it :/

This is just very smart... and awesome!

My brain hurts a little after trying to understand those mathematics...

but what if we could apply this to a high-end lens, would this make a better super sharp lens???

yeah this file is corrupted - it stops somewhere in the middle of data.
seems some part of it is missing.

run the same command, just without -r to dump its content into the output file in MLV mode (name it blah.mlv)
then you can process it using mlv2dng

Ok so it seems to work, but it output a 1ko raw file :/

Indeed, it's like a HDR. ;)
But in astro-photography, regular photographic bracketing is not relevant because we need a very high S/N ratio (many shoots of the same bracket).

I know that  ;D

)

Just thought that it was possible to combine intervallometer and bracketting, by this I mean take -1/0/+1 shots at "T" time, then the same at "T+1" etc

::)

Ok so I turned my brain "ON" and did some search....

I acheived to decode one of the two files with mlv_dump

but for the other one...

Keep your personal stuff off this board!

If you read this thread you will find this on reply 218:

and a bit lower you will find this:

So try it and see.  If it is not compatible with current build then wait until dev makes it available.

Thanks for this post Renato, it helped me a lot

Sticky something is on? Maybe some ML assert is tripped? I compiled last night and get no blinking.

Ok now it's gone... I maybee need to stop playin with menus... or stop drinking. Or both  ::)

what you wanna do (composite different exposure to get the galaxy core not burn for ex.) is quite similar to HDR... have you simply tried with advanced bracketing?

Just noticed that with the last 2 builds, the back red led ("access lamp") is constantly blinking... excepted when I pop up the ML menu.

Strange :/

i quote myself again regarding corrupted mlv files.

- what happens?  - some error message?

the program crash, i posted the windows error message here
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7802.msg75833#msg75833

- what does mlv_dump say?

where can I download the mlv_dump.exe file? haven't found a good link here
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7122.0

- can you convert it to legacy raw?

sorry but what do you mean? (  :-[ )

- what does the mlv player say?

the one on the camera? or your "MLV Viewer"?
MLV viewer is crashing trying to open the file.

- where can i download the corrupted files?

do you got a place where I can upload two 3gigs files?
Or maybe i can directly upload them to you using a .torrent or something else (got a 100mb/s symetric bandwith)

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the lack of provided infos  :-\

Press the zoom button to get 5x and then press trash button to go to ML menu... there go to your raw setting and chose your desired resolution.

@1%: Is there a way to modify ML in order to be able to set crop mode settings without being in x5 mode?

I got FPS working from slave (since master isn't even booting for me now).. not for H264 yet. With the new edmacs I get 1920x1038 cont at 79.x mb/s in zoom mode.

Nice!
but is "since master isn't even booting for me now" a big problem?

Once again, got 2 files I can't decode :/

I'll upload them if I can't get the job done.

I tried to see if there's something wrong in the file structure with a hex editor, but nothing seems weird.

TIP: I achieved to decode a "corrupted" file using the Windows XP 3 compatibility mode. (Windows 8 x64)

got that. I'm getting varying results at that resolution first got 700+ frames then 300+ then after awhile the LV when crazy,
I heard the mirror come down,
the LV image was frozen and the menu/screen info flashing erratically.

On the top screen of the cam an ERR message flashing . no number just ERR,

This is exactly the bug that I had.

And can someone try to compile the last 1% version ("Bump edmac on 7D up to 0x06... Now I can record fullHD LV continuously.")?
Thanks :)

Done some shoots yesterday and I had several crashes in crop mode using 1% last build.

The screen started to flicker and then the camera crashed, I had to remove the battery each time to reboot the camera.

I'll check if I'll find some debug logs.

maybe we need a fixer for mlv raw files :/

You can use ligthroom or any viewer

I use Adobe Bridge.

There's also an Adobe "codec" to view DNGs in the explorer.

question does 7d support exfat?

Quote from: 1% on September 13, 2013, 07:47:18 PM
Possibly, I don't have one to test but I see the exfat strings... maybe there is a way to fake out the camera and make it think the card is 128gb... also dunno if fir will run from 128gb cards.
