I'm running 6 of those ST3000DM001 HDDs in raid 10 using an areca card. The benchmarks are here if you're interested forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/storage-clinic-119/areca-arc-1882ix-12-16-24-card-4477411.html

Link :Watch on youtube

its working on a 2008 mac book pro running OSX Mavericks

cd desktop was to navigate to my desktop
cd mlv was to bring it to the mlv folder inside desktop

do note mlv_dump is in the same folder (idk if its necessary)

You should probably try it on a different PC. I had the binary error while in the VM.

It was a great show, visually.

I'm not really sure what you're asking but what I know is;

H.264 will require to code the digic which is impossible.

Raw Video / Re: Video in 3.5k raw

1080p videos don't look crisp on a 2.5k screen. Haha. But perhaps it makes the footage easier to work with in post? Knowing you have some resolution you can spare

On a 2.5k screen. And that is seriously eye piercing!

This may seem out of place. But it might be worth a try. There is a program called recuva. Google that and give it a try?
#36
Looks great. I guess its time for me to update my workflow
#37
Gonna give it a try this weekend.

You should really get a USB 3 reader. WAAAYYYYY FASTER
#38
Just take photos and use after effects or QuickTime to export as video?
#39
It is stable. In the sense that I didn't get any freezes. Everything worked normally. And I too downgraded to use ML the same day I bought the camera. Just be sure to follow the instructions to the letter and it should be fine. Do note the bootloader cannot be switched off and the camera will take slightly longer to start up. Not very noticeable though.

(50D raw -> raw2dng)
I am having trouble playing back the raw dng files in my editors (after effects & Premier Pro)
they will play but not anywhere near real time (reduced quality down to 1/4 and everything)

how are ye guys coping with playback in AE

my pc specs:

Win 7 ultimate
i7 3820 (3.6ghz)
GTX 680 SC 2gb
16GB 2133mhz ram
256gb ocz Agility 3 SSD
2TB WD Black HD

I have similar specs but with one difference. 32 GB of ram. Most of the time I can load the whole clip into the ram preview and it plays back realtime there. Although that being said my clips are mostly shorter than 10 mins

To record raw you need to switch to video mode on the camera, the little ring around the start/stop button top right of the screen. You also need the raw_rec module in the modules folder and you have to load the raw_rec module once the camera is loaded up(the last tab in the ML menu)

My jaw literally dropped when I saw spanning support. I have a 5DMk3. How can I help?

It,s already in the post processing description as how to join split files but it,s always goid with a little repetition :)

Oh. yep. Bumps up the search results.
I didn't search the forums then because i wanted to see if it worked.

Thanks for letting me know though..

Cheers,

Raw Video / Forgot to format as exFAT, don't worry.
July 26, 2013, 05:25:01 PM
Now while i do not claim to be an expert, there may be an 'official' way of correcting this. But it worked for me so i thought i'd share with you guys.

Today i tried for the first time taking RAW video, but i left my house in a hurry after installing, i forgot to change the CF card format as exFAT.

I took it in FAT32 and when i got back i had 2 files.

M26-1721.R00 and M26-1721.RAW

raw2dng.exe could not read the M26-1721.RAW file.

I decided to try using a file joiner like HJSplit to amend the 2 files together.
Get it at http://www.hjsplit.org/

First i checked the time the files were created, modified and their sizes

M26-1721.RAW  Created 5.21pm, Modified 5.22pm, 4.3gb
M26-1721.R00   Created 5.22pm, Modified 5.22pm, 700mb

So from that i knew that M26-1721.RAW came before M26-1721.R00.
I then renamed the files to M26-1721.RAW->M26-1721.RAW.001 and M26-1721.R00->M26-1721.RAW.002

Then i opened up HJSplit and selected the join files button and after 10 mins it was completed.

Imported it into raw2dng.exe and it worked flawlessly.

Well i hope you guys don't make the same mistake as i did!

Cheers,

Nigel
