Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: MLVProducer for Windows
January 13, 2016, 05:25:48 PM
Okay, i found out that i was not using the last version.
Maybe you would post actual versions to the 1st page :)?

Copy&Paste works well - color-calibration will not be copied?

Great thank you!
What im missing is that the settings for reconstruct/Linear/...  and the filter settings (specialy lut) are not handled in group- or global mode (as well as the output directory+compression settings).

Would it be good for someone else to have this included in Group/Global.

It would give just a little bit faster workfow than using copy and paste i think?

I´ve tryed the copy/paste-method ... my win7 64bit freezes completely when clicking on paste (the 2nd paste in the popup) :/

CPU AMDFX4100
16GB RAM
SSD HardDrive

let me know if you need any informations.

Its absolutely great that someone makes this possible :).

That is absolutely great!
Thank you very much :) - much better workflow yet.

I have a newbe-question:

How can i settup "global settings"? Because when i open iE 20 clips shot with same lens and cameraconfigurations it would be great to set
all settings for all clips together. Greenchannel reconstructing, Demosaic, ColorSpace, Corrections and the outputpath- just everything.
Doing this via "groups" would be fine. So when all clips from that group have their "basicsetup" we could fineadjust each by each (when needed) in task mode.
Or am i missing something or doing something wrong ;)?

And- is it possible to export to lagartih-losless-codec? Or do you think that is not needed?

I think developing for the EOS550D has been stopped, hasn´t it?
#5
prabhath, maybe you recorded with 50/60 FPS?

nightly build means that it is possibe thats not bugfree ... this is the text in the download area for nightly builds.

Be sure your sd-card is formated an make a clean copy of the stabel version!
Then you should be able to record 960x540 16:9 @24fps

If not reply to this post and show all raw-record settings you did.

Another example: Using the walimex pro fisheye (8mm)

Raw Video / Walimex 8mm example ONLINE :)

Allright, got it, tested it, uploaded it :).
About 1minute 8mm-fisheye video:

Hope you like it!

Thank you a1ex.
Why didn´t you film in RAW? Because you need a  continous record?
But its a nice wide-angel. Not that much disortion or did you fix this a little bit in post?

Yesterday i bought a walimes 8mm lens. It will come next week, and i hope it will make me happy ;).

Whatevery- would like to see more examples.

Sounds intersting.
But im interedted in fisheye-material, too.
I just can pay around 400€- so im thinking ....

I did hear seomthing about 8mm and ML-DeFishing ... can someone give me informations- or better DEMOVIDEO about this?

Hey there.

I use the 550D for filming.
Im NOT ASKING for a good recording resolution or aspect ratio!!

Im looking for somthing to get more image-material thru my lens ;)

The 18-135mm lens is great. But because of the crop factor (RAW-Video) a lot will be cutted while recording.

Im thinking about using a 8mm (fisheye) for filming, to get a panoramatic picture.

Any other ideas or tips? Maybe adapter, another lens or software?
May be a good deal with mm and dof?
A unwarper for fisheye-disortions?
Adaptor or anything else?
Or other good lenses for filming?

My hardware:
550D - ML lates build
Canon 18-135mm
Canon 50mm
80MB/s SDHC card

Hi!
This is an issue i have :( ... this happens often. Where does it come from?

#12
Hi could you please help me.
I have two problems when recording in RAW format.

1) Sometimes i have a pink frame between the recording.
2) Sometimes there is one reverse frame in my sequence ... means: while playing the clip sometimes it seems like one single frame is the same like a frame before.
It looks like the Sequence plays reversed for one frame.

Do you have this issues sometimes, too?
What todo against that?

Tryed different builds (nightly + normal).
Have a ScanDisk 32GB 80MB/s card.
Record in FULLHD-Mode with 1280x536, 23.967 FPS RAW
Used Batchelor3 for Batch Raw2DNG
Import in AE
Prebiew gives me sometimes these errors :/

This is my 1st RAW-Clip.
To give you the best quality i uploaded the 200MB-File to my homepage.
I know- its shaky handeld.

Loading may take a while if you have low speed conections.

Rewind thank you!
Thought the same when i saw the movie in the cinema yesterday.

Great- the eos550d is a movie-camera :D, thanks to the ML-Team for that wonderful thing!

Hi All,

Could anyone let me know if the SDHC card mentioned below is compatible for installation of RAW firmware for 550D?

http://www.flipkart.com/item/ACCDAW7EBVCZ87EA

Also, I have a 16GB Class 10 30MBps SanDisk SDHC.

Is that compatible for RAW?

Please suggest some good card that has proven to be worth buying for the propose?

Thanks so much

Yes it is! I use the same card with 32GB and it works very good!

@dafassi Have you tried recording without the fps override?

Nope i never tryed this ... is the relevant for 24FPS in finished movie? I think when i have more frames they will be droped- and when i have less frames the stroboscobic-effect will be more intensive? Wrong?

BUT i have to say- yesterday in the cinema a took a deeper look to the screen and was wondering how much stroboscobic lighting is there!
I never saw this before, maybe because i didnt make 24p shots before :D.

The intersting question is- why does this come? Is it the lighting of objects, is it the aperature setting, is it dof?
Yes i know it has to do with the camera sensor- i mean what is the trick to reduce this effect?

I found out that edges from objects has much less strobosobic effect when there is less light in the background.
This would me, i need a way to have a stronger motionblur on intensive contrasted-areas. Is that right?
How to reduce this effect? Specialy in the scene i attached- what could i do better EXCEPT using a TRIPOD?

THANKS!

A short 'short' with the intent of exploring Magic Lantern's RAW dynamic range on the 550d. ISO at 800.

WOW like that mine85!

Why is everything so smooth? I mostly have stroboscobic effects. 24p/180° ?
#17
No ... maybe my eyes are too sensible :D but its not the shakyness of my hands.
For me it "feels" like a 20fps-clip rendered with 24fps ... like some frames are missing to have a real smooth motion or the motion blur is not correct.
#18
Can some one help me.
Why is the video not butter-smooth when panning the camera? And what can i do to make it better (before/after recording)?

Here is the RAW-Shot:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pT_54mLq0g&feature=youtu.be

Settings:
1920 mode
1152x490
low iso (200-400)
24 fps overwrite
180 degrees shutter
canon 18-135mm 3,5-5,6

recorded on a 80MB/s Class10 SDHC-CARD

Thank you for sharing your trys!
In 1st View both pics seems to be same.
But when you zoom a little bit you will See color artifacts.
Recording in 720p mode could give you more frames because its squeezed?
When resizing to have correct proportions you will have less quality.

Hello there!

1st thing is- THANK YOU :).
Its realy a helpfull tool!

Here is a request:

Can you add a checkbox for "write settings to thumb"?
So in the preview picture is a small field with textinformations like:

recorded in:
lens, aperature, shatter, ML resolution@camera resolution, fps ...

iE.
Canon EF35mm -- 1.8f -- 180° (1/50) -- ML_1200*512@CANON_1280 -- 24FPS

This would it make easy to compare tests!

Greets!
#21
Im sorry,

i made a mistake in setting up the resolution.

Of course a higher resolution brings a better quality.

CLOSE!
#22
I recorded in both modes with nearly the same resolution. And i didnt see much difference on near objects.
But why is the difference in number of frames?
#23
Raw Video / RAW 1080/720 what is the difference?
August 09, 2013, 07:24:49 AM
Hi!
Just whant to know what is the difference while recording RAW-Videos with iE 1200 x XXX.
Because using the canon 1080p format gives me less frames than using the 720p format.

Both tryed with 24fps.

Is it a big quality difference?

#24
not sure if you undestood what i whanted- or i use a ML-version with missing setting-options?

a) How can i make intervalometer auto-focussing to me when im in front of the camera IN MOVIE MODE? Dont see any option for this.
b) How can i get intervalometer to record movie (RAW 24fps) after autofocus did its job?

My feature request was an once-autofocus (delayed), and then start (raw-)recording.
#25
Hi. As i could see after spending some time in searching and trying it seems that there is no special for shooting my self.

So my question :

Is it possible to add a self shot function.
It Should be a time delayed automatic focus.

When i want to take a Clip from my self i need some time for walking in Front of the cam. After this few seconds autofocus gets me.
In princip this is enaugh, better is when Recording starts then.
The Same thing is Interesting for Photos.

Maybe a beep gives the Signal that focussing successed.

Dennis
