It is already in the cam, it's just limited to timelapse mode.

As for me I'm very happy about the fact that there is cropped 4K - this should be a relatively clean image as compared to full sensor width image scaled without pixel binning, right? For many folks this could be usable even in stock H264 flavor. R100 even has 4K All-I for timelapse. If we can make it All-I for regular 4K then it would already be a good boost.

Okay, thanks for the info.
Can you please tell how you know if a sensor in a particular camera is good or crap?
Do you look at the specs or watch sample photos videos?
And what is the criteria for bad or good sensor?
Is it something subjective or you have some metrics?
#4
I am sure that when the R100 is available we can all donate a small amount to buy one for you devs to try it.
Do you think that R100 has a chance to become "the new EOS M"?
It looks like it is one of the most affordable newer cams so it might get popular.
#5
Hello guys. Do you think that any success is possible with R100?
#6
Has anyone considered using this?

I thought that cropped H264 means that you get a 1:1 picture (like RAW?) without line skipping and with less aliasing that is then compressed to H264.
Is that how it is? Or what is it about? What is the benefit of this cropped mode over native canon full sensor 1080p mode?
#8
Please remind me. Can one shoot cropped H264 on eos m?

Now I use Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus.
It's not expensive, and gives amazing speeds.
And it's become a new "Gold Standard", because Sandisk Extreme Pro just has no more sence.
Sounds interesting. Can you specify which card you used? exact model? what speeds do you get, what settings/hacks activated?
#10
With these new speeds available, how much more resolution / crop factor reduction can we get in 1x3 mode ?
Is it time to make some new presets or adjustments for 5K frtp?
#11
I was thinking about pinhole again today... And I think that one can try to make a stereoscopic camera with two isolated pinholes on a single camera. What do you think?

What is new in the latest build? Is there some feature rollback? I think that I saw something about reverting in commit comments. Am I wrong?

Hi. Thanks for the updated FW!
What is the diff Apr 30 vs May 04?
#14
That's really great news! I was just thinking about getting a monitor too.
What is the highest fps EOS-M can do for every mode (full sensor/1x3/1:1)?

BTW, can I make a donation? How would I do that, and to whom?)
#15
So it's that much complicated...
OK. Is there an easy way to add black bars/overlays instead of taping the cam?)

Hey guys. Sorry for distracting you from working on the more important and useful features.
But can you help me make this preset - 5k frtp copy at 960x1620 with correct preview?
I remember that there was some guide for making presets?
I want this preset because I got a 7.5mm lens and I can work with a higher crop factor, and a smaller frame size works better on my slower SD card (70% bitrate reduction, I think) and I get more recording time. Maybe this would be useful for someone else too?
#17
Hey Danne. Could you please make a copy of 5k frtp preset but with resolution adjusted to 960x1620 and with correct preview?
I can set this resolution but the preview is still showing 1280x2160.

Hey. I've been recording more of pinhole videos (natural outdoors daylight) which are quite low light and I have a few questions about ISO and noise. It looks like ISO 400-1600 produce less noise than ISO 100. Can that be true?
Is there any difference in terms of noise levels between the full sensor mode (3x3) the binning mode (1x3) and the 1:1 mode?
Is there anything one can do to help such low light scenarios?
#19
Thanks. Can you use a shutter of 1/24 in full sensor 1080p mode? I was able to enable it for 5K frtp with full range option, but it doesn't seem to work for 1080p.
Has anyone tried to record a pinhole video? It looks quite interesting.
#20
How do I enable ISO higher than 3200? I can turn it on in canon menu but it falls back to 3200 set via ML. In ML when I set it higher than 3200 it returns back to 3200 after a fraction of a second.

Got a SanDisk Extreme 150MB 128GB, benchmark shows around 60MBps write with 192MHz overclock. 1280x2160 and 1920x1080 is cont, both 14bit 24fps.

How do I start recording with a manual lens? Doesn't seem to react to me pressing rec with a manual lens.
#22
What is the highest stable write speed with eos M and what uhs overclock preset is used for this?
I need a faster card, wondering which one to get. I know that Sandisk ex pro 95 170 are recommended. Just wondering what exactly is possible with this cam.
#23
I think you can connect phone and the cam via a hub that supports simultaneous charging. I'm powering my cam from a 20K mah usb powerbank, might power the phone from it too.
#24
I know. This was the reason why I abandoned raw a few years back. 1x3 binning is a game changer as far as I can see. And I don't even care about 4K. 720p/1080p is more than enough. It all boils down to removing aliasing, crop factor and monitoring.

I tried the frtp tap preset and it IS continuous. Holy shit! And HDMI is working too. Much respect to you Danne and all the devs who made this happen.

Do you guys think any of these phone headsets would be useful for monitoring and focusing (via HDMI)?
#25
I've been watching Zeek's videos for last 3 days)))

I'm interested only in 1x3 binning mode, 24fps cont, without corrupted frames, with correct framing realtime preview (also via HDMI) if possible?
Then maximize the resolution (and minimize crop factor) while keeping all of the above working.

OK, I'll try tap presets. Figured out flv needs 25fps enabled...
