Hi!

Thank you for a really great app. If its possible to unsqueeze 60 FPS 1920x672 to 1920x1080 inside RAW2CDNG? Would be helpfull. Having a a kind of problem inside Davinci Resolve right now, mixing 23,976fps and 60fps.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I'am very happy today because i finally really got awesome quailty on my vimeo videos link here
https://vimeo.com/107085645
I just used Hunters LUT. But I wonder if there might be a new even better one out there now.
I've tried Cinelog but I'am not very happy with it. Maybe I will try use a Alexa like workflow.

Kind Regards!

I love RAW2CDNG! Always using it with my MLV and RAW files. The audio syncing in Davinci Resolve from the MLV files with your app couldn't be better, thanks for that!

Every time it takes it's worth it! Can't wait for the tutorial realese and other stuff, it will be nice to have it, but the wait is okey. Thank you very much for making good tutorials and awesome LUT's. After finding your luts my quailty increased a big bit in my Resolve workflow. I would be glad if there will be a long tutorial and tips on storing your RAW 5D3 footage in a more "compressed" way.

Best Regards from Sweden!

Thank you very much! Downloaded handbrake and it seams to me that my workflow is finally solved. I will write hear later when I have compared vimeo compression and color between Prores and X264. I link to my latest video https://vimeo.com/104493907 16x9 ratio though.

Cool! Sound like a good plan! I read that sorenson can output x264 but thats a bit expensive for me. I guess Handbrake is for OSX? Tips on X264 encoder for Windows would be great from Premiere Pro our standalone!

What you need to do is make the composition to 1920x1080, add a solid black layer first, then add your 1920x817 footage, that will make the dnxhd footage render out perfectly.

You're welcome :)

Thanks for your tip, but I really need the anamorphic format since i us 1920x817 on my website. http://www.allemyr.com/portfolio/personal/short-films/
So I'am still looking for a codec like prores and DNxHD inside Windows, greatful for any tip.

Best Regards!

DNxHD only supports standard resolutions: 1920x1080, 1280x720.
ProRes is resolution independent.

Ohh thats no good for me, thanks for clearify. Any tips on codecs for windows that can contain audio and video in quality like prores in 1920x817 or similar?

Thank you!

Hi!

I really like the Avid DNxHD codec within the Quicktime container. But when i output 1920x817 from Davinci Resolve or Premiere Pro it's adding black bars or stretch the video. Like it's locked for 1080p. I usually upload my video's on vimeo in 1920x817, so it is a bit of a problem to me. Tips very welcome.

Kind Regards!

Yes you can un squeeze in resolve. Its in one of the tools in the color tab but i cant remember what its called. It will allow you to stretch the height of the frame. I usually go by sight till it fills my aspect ratio but i believe there is an exact number to stretch by. 1.62 i think? Any way once you have done one stretch i suggest you copy and paste that node to the other clips that need to be stretched. it will save you some time.

Thank you very much!! It's in the sizing tab with in the color tab. Nice!

How did you manage recording 48 fps at 1920x818? I can just record stretched options.

I can just get around 40 fps with 1920x818 when using 30fps as start frame per second.Using a Lexar 1066x.
Tips on how to manage 48 or 50 fps at 1920x818 are welcome :)

You can record 1920x818 at 48FPS and slow it down to 23.976.. I've done it here -- > https://vimeo.com/87812777

Hi!

I guess your video is meant to be played in Windows Media Player (WMV). Every new codec you use there is always an issue with maintaining quality at its best. I'am quite shure that its pretty rare with 10 bit monitors. Looked it up kind of fast. Of the over 2000 computer monitors that is for sale rigth now here in Sweden there is a bit over 50 monitors that is 10 bit and over. 10 of them are under a 1000 US dollars. However when you are grading they are really nice but more nice is higher bit depths files that is above 8 you have a lot of info to play with.

If you doesn't continue with the grading after Davinci you might export it as 8 bit Prores or what you prefer from Resolve. It takes time with getting your own workflow right. I have mine right now but i just work with soft looking/ compressed/ low bit depth Canon 600D files. Quite sad but I think the end quality is quite great anyways, guess it's because I don't have any loss after the camera. But then I work with uncompressed all the way and upload huge Quicktime Prores 422 (8 bit) files to Vimeo in 1080p. Getting a 5DII soon though. That's what I can afford and I will have to create another workflow more streamlines aswell.

- Try with a uncompressed 8 bit file from Davinci and use Sony Vegas higher bitrates when you compress it with the WMV codec
- Try exporting a high bitrate WMV file from Davinci Resolve and se how it looks in Windows Media Player.

If it's not for use in/with Windows Media Player there's probably a better codec/format for that.
