At first you need CombineZP (Windows only)
http://www.hadleyweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/CZP/News.htm

Now you do a normal focus-stack, but the dof must go from close to far.

I like to use Focus End Point setting to see how much steps I need and how big one step is.

After taking the pictures start CombineZP

1.Select "Load Macro Set" and press go
2.Select "rocker."
3.Press "New" and select your pictures
4.Press go again
5.

Left: You have to select a value smaller than 10000
Right: You have to select a value bigger than 10000
The bigger the difference to 10000 the bigger the movement to the left and to the right
Step: In this example the program generates 3 pictures, because we want to see if the values are ok or if we get artifacts.

6. Press Continue

7.After computing a while you get 6 pictures because the program doubles them to get the motion from the left to the right and back from the right to the left.
With the "up" and "down" buttons you can look through the pictures and look for artifacts.

8. Unfortunately I didn't find a way to revert step 7 so you have to close the program and do the last steps again. If you know a solution please let me know.

9.
Because of artifacts I reduced the values a little bit and selected a step size which equals 10 pictures from the left to the right and again 10 pictures from the right to the left.

10.
Now you have to save the pictures so press "save" button then down arrow to get the next one and save it again, again and again.
I didn't find a way to save all pictures at once if you know a way please let me know.

11. Now you can make a gif. animation or whatever you want.
