Maybe there is a way to do this, I haven't figures out yet?
Sometimes it would be very helpful to switch Power save settings as easy as the LV presets.

Try to enable silent pic in the shoot menu.

Hello,

There is a module under development that does ramping.

I did:
cd magic-lantern/modules/dual_iso
make

I did it with a android tablet once for the same reason. (under water housing)
Sadly the android part isn't supported at the moment. I guess, if scripting would work and andriod support you could achieve this with a script and without touching the firmware.

Looks very good, but what confuses me, is why the blue and red tile runs out of the border.

Take a look at the scripting API. No need the change the code.

You could fetch an older ML with PicoC support and write a little script if you don't want to use fps override.

General Help Q&A / Re: 600D: pink silent pictures

Can't figure out any way to avoid pink frames.
I even tried to trigger the intervalometer set to 1s and 1 pic with half-shutter and got only 1 pink frame out of 100, but it is too much for a timelaps with camera motion.

Seems like a complicated sync problem that occurred even with the old 422 pics as far as I remember.

@painya

great tutorial. after 200.000 I'll try :-)

Removing the flash may save energy.

I tried to put this function inside silent.c
lens_wait_readytotakepic(64);
int raw_flag = 1;
raw_lv_request();

Doesn't change anything :-(

Quoteill try with my lcd flipped other way tomorrow but to be honest i cant see that changing anything really could it?
:-)

I did try to understand, where is the difference between taking a single pic with half-shutter and taking it with intervalometer.

The code is too complex for me to understand, but the only difference I found is that the intervalometer does runs a
lens_wait_readytotakepic(64);
function before shooting, but due to the complexity of the code I'm not really sure.

The camera triggered remotely or with half shutter causes pink frames, with the intervalometer triggered "silent pic" is working fine.

I took a look in the source code (silent.c) and found this.

  static unsigned int
silent_pic_take(unsigned int interactive) // for remote release, set interactive=0
{
    if (!silent_pic_enabled) return CBR_RET_CONTINUE;
    if (!lv) force_liveview();
    silent_pic_take_raw(interactive);
    return CBR_RET_STOP;
}

Should I set a "0" there?

"// for remote release" - that's what I like do :-)

Would it be possible to trigger silent pics like the intervalometer does it set to "Stop after 1 shot" ; "Take 1 shot"?

Just tested with intervalometer. 100% OK for 200 pics.

Yes the cam was rotating 20 degree while shooting 100 frames, but if you shot clouds the image is also changing while the camera stands still.

I have no clue how to force pink frames.

All cameras with shitty vsync.
Do you think there is no way for stable silent pics with these cams?

looks like there is the same behavior on a 550D. Also the rate ~ 6/100

edit:
tried it in and photo and movie and without global draw. The camera was also triggered remotely without the intervalometer.

Wow. Great looking. Thanks.  :)

I like to mention, that the contrast of menu-bar inside the ML menu is very low, especially in bright sun light.

Thanks for posting. Very interesting...

I think scripting is still broken.
PicoC will be replaced by tcc.
You could try a older (3 or 4 month?) ML version.
