General Help Q&A / Re: Aspect Ratio Setting in ML
September 28, 2013, 01:24:35 AM
Yes i did have the raw_rec module loaded, i have it set to automatically load every time.  Ive been recording raw for a while now.  But again, the instructions say to "scroll to aspect ratio"; i do not see anything about aspect ratios anywhere.  What am i still missing?  I do notice that the post i refered to said to do this with 5d3 AND OTHERS.  Are these steps completely applicable to the 5d mark 3?

Thanks Renato,

Jon

General Help Q&A / Aspect Ratio Setting in ML
September 27, 2013, 02:18:16 AM
Hi everyone.  I have been going through the instructions on this post (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5472.0) to hopefully shoot something equivalent or close to 1080p at 60fps for slow motion in post.  I made it to step 16 and their i got stuck.  I cannot find an aspect ratio setting anywhere.  Its likely that i am just missing something obvious or that i am miss interpreting the instructions somehow.  Can someone please help?

I don't really want to spend $500+ on software but right now i have to spend hours converting the dng's to png's using Photoshop elements 10.  Only then can i use virtual dub to make an image sequence because it doesn't support dng's.  Is there a better way around this without spending huge money?  I am willing to spend a certain amount.  And ive tried quicktime pro and it doesn't seem to work; it messes up the video completely.

Thanks

i sort of got some more info.

This guy (Dave Dugdale)  is using a 100mb/s 1000x cf card and the same exact thing happened to him in this video.

In later videos he doesn't have this problem.  What did he do?  Ive been reading posts on this forum all day and i haven't figured it out.

This is probably common knowledge but i can't seem to find the answer as to why it stops the recording once it reaches 4 gb's.  I format my card on my pc first but it makes no difference.

Thanks guys

Hi guys.  I had a friend tell me about this website and saying all these things about what you are able to do with ML.  But i wanted to get some truth from you guys.  All i will really mention from what he said is what im interested in, shooting for slow motion in 1080p, meaning 60 fps or higher.  For one has that ever been done with a 5d mark 3 by using ML or anything else?  Or is it not even possible?  May it be possible in the future?

Thanks guys.
