I think maintaining current builds is priority right now. Plus, there is early development on dumping Digic6 so I would think that the 750/760, 80D and 7D2 would come first - at least I hope....

There could be ML for the 5D4 but I would think not for at least a couple of years.

Epic Canon fail. I sure hope ML can come to my 7D2 soon or I might finally be done with Canon.

Well actually, I use my 7D2's with Atomos Ninja 2's and record to ProRes 422HQ.  It is still 8 bit but it's 8 bit 4.2.2 which is much better than h.264 8 bit 4.2.0. I use Cinestyle and sometimes Neutral but they seem to work much better when recorded externally. I'll have to try this "C-Log."

Yes, while in movie mode, you can go to the audio menu and switch to Manual.

Anyhow, it will be very interesting to see what Canon has up their sleeve for the rumored upcoming firmware update to the 7D2. I hope it brings more than just functionality to the rumored WiFi accessory that is soon to be announced. 4K video???

Another thing that is difficult capture with lower budget cameras is ... well .. motion. On older film cameras , the mechanical shutter garonteed smoother motion capture at any shutter. I'm not sure if arri and red are able to achieve this digitally but it's possible. The best motion capture from any digital cinema camera in the $4000 range is the Digital Bolex. That camera , to my eye had the best color and motion capture in its class. But NOOOOOO spec hungry masses favor "4k 100p" nonsense and that's why the D16 is no longer on the market. It's VERY sad to me.

Agreed. Very sad. I'll take dynamic range, good color science and good motion capture qualities over resolution any day.

I know you mentioned lighting but believe me, you have to do more than buy expensive lights. You have to pay for people to help you light. Lighting is one of (if not THE one and only) the most critical aspects of filming. Highlight rolloff is probably the second thing that is noticeable on high quality productions - hence the use of RED, ARRI and BM.

7D Mark II would be incredible. Good news that there is progress on the DIGIC 6.

Patience. a1ex, Pelican and some others are working to dump the firmware. It'll get here when it gets here.

I'm guessing a 5D3 but I would also like to know your workflow, how sharpening was added etc.

Don't know what testing is left but my 7D2 should be available this weekend.

I could probably do it but wouldn't be able to get to it until later this week.

I had better results in 10 and 11. Problems began with 12 and even worse in 12.5 beta.

Interesting, I have the opposite problem with Resolve on Mac. Looks fine in the viewer but washed out in the rendered version.
