Maybe this will give you an idea re: 5D3.123...

It would be much easier to just press a compare button  8)

How difficult would it be to make MLV app read DNG files?

They still have a different look, at least they use the same batteries  :)

If you need RAW and 4k and don't need autofocus its great for the price.

If you need RAW and 4k and autofocus I would get the Canon c200.

Here is a list of lenses with built in profile support:

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/supported-lenses.html

And I found this name on the list

Samyang 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC
#33
Good news, with the IMG_6910.CR2 it loads the profile automatically !

It found the right lens and made the corrections for it. screenshots for proof :)

#34
Can you try with lensdata that arc has a profile for?

for example:

this should be autodetected with a profile

name = "Zeiss Distagon T* 2.8/25 ZF.2",        focal_length =  25, manual_aperture = 2.8 },

 :) true

It's not a major issue, I can just hold enter, but its seems a bit excessive all the popups
#37

I just openend the last session without the drive attached.

yes it sorts it but it shows a pop up for every missing file, ideally I need only one popup at the end of the opening of the session
#38
When opening a session with missing files ( they are mixed internal and external drive and external not plugged in )
There is a popup for each file, It would save me some time if there is only one popup telling me that there are missing files and when I want to see them it gives me a list.

Right now I have to click many times ok button for every time I open a session like that.

There are 18 core macs out there, are you sure you want to limit to just one core?
Seems like a missing performance oppertunity.

Probably I don't understand how it works
#40
Very simple to fix,

adjust levels and move the black levels to the right as seen in the picture

As you can see in the histogram the black was completely washed out, this can be a look you are going for, but I personally would not.

Google should fix its own problems  :)

Nvidia works on High sierra with pascal Nvidia GPU's for example 1080 ti works with Nvidia web drivers in E-gpu enclosure or in Mac pro 5.1
Cuda also works in high Sierra

( I have tried both and they work well )

I hope Nvidia will be able to release the web drivers for the 2080 cards soon.
because it's a shame how apple is dealing with this situation, I understand your not willing to invest time in an uncertain platform.

But I love my MacBook Pro and I have a 1080ti ordered for my sonnet e-GPU enclosure.

Would love a Mac version too  :)
#44
you can always batch rename them on the computer right ?
As long as the fie has the info you need
#45
@dfort maybe you know something about this? you know most things nowadays :)
#46
Maybe try with a more common lens name to see if its picket up.

This one is normally pocket up by adobe and auto sets the lens corrections.

lens.name = "Zeiss Distagon T* 2/25 ZF.2"
lens.focal_length = 25
lens.aperture = 20

#47
I just did that and no difference in adobe

when I open the file on apple preview and press info I can get Canon EF 35-80 f4-5.6

but this also is shown without the side car file present.

#48
This is what I get in adobe bridge, the zoom lens is one I have never seen :)

#49
Interesting finds!

I can test in adobe camera raw if you can share a sample of the footage with the lens data you captured.

I'm not of much help with code, but perhaps a mock-up would help.
I made it like the same slider as before but with two points, don't know if thats possible in QT

Default is all range and range sliders at the edges of the timeline.

With arrow over current selected timeframe

I made a timeline indicator icon you can use:
