Feature Requests / Re: RAW2DNG: Automatic split Files extraction?

@Andy600:
Well, as soon as raw2cdng implements commandline, there would be no problem there. :)

Do you still see benefits from raw2cdng, now that resolve added support for regular DNGs from raw2dng?

raw2cdng also does it. sadly it does not have commandline, so BATCHelor implementation is not possible, as this is my main goal.

I would not be opposed to that Idea, but it is for ML team to decide.
a1ex, I get your point. A lot of hours go by behind that desk. :)
You have done the community a great good. Thank you !
Maybe some other savvy guys out there are up to it. :)

Feature Requests / RAW2DNG: Automatic split Files extraction?
« on: July 19, 2013, 10:20:29 PM »
Is somebody working on automatic processing of .R00, .R01, etc. Files in RAW2DNG.exe?
Would be huge for my Software BATCHelor.
And did not seem to be a problem for other developers.

@DANewman:
BUG: when the specified output directory does not exist, it says "check if cineform studio is correctly installed".

Maybe you could change it to something more conclusive like "output directory does not exist" :)

33
I think Resolve is the best option out there if you are working with quality glass. :) Don't be fooled by using cheap lenses. Its where the magic lies, as debayering problems go.

34
vegas user here. heard nothing new.

well, maybe its time to get a hackintosh ;)

@CFP:
I'm not sure if they are present in H.264. as they only appear when severely exposing the picture in post - about 2-3 stops.
Stripes are actually just present in this one shot, but I needed to put it in the trailer, and I also wanted the Community to see the ups and downs of ML RAW. :)
- danke, das wär ja was :)

@Redrocks:
just a short heads up, I am planning on an article - sort of - to give a little insight on this film. :)

does batchelor work when you update raw2dng.exe in batchelor folder to newest version?
do the files work when you exchange file names with another file that works? maybe it is a name problem..

38
Hello pascal.

So I assume there are some files which are not 100% intact.
Please try replacing raw2dng.exe with the newest version and test again.
Sometimes when the files are damaged, older versions crash.
also try the failed files manually with raw2dng. does it work?
does raw2cdng crash on the same files as batchelor?

I will implement a checking routine in the next release.

BIG NEWS! Raw2DNG files are now supported by Resolve!
This means you can user BATCHelor for your complete workflow rightaway-
and maybe try out that compression feature that will save you a lot of space! :)

Raw Video / Re: Davinci Resolve 9.1.5 now works with DNG
« on: July 14, 2013, 12:49:24 PM »
@mageye:
this is exactly what BATCHelor does automatically, also a lot faster than standard adobe DNG converter because of automatic multithreading ;) try it. lossy and lossless compression implemented. :)

41
thanks to everyone for their feedback!
I am very happy you like the look and feel of our short movie.
I would love to upload the full movie, but I can not at this point.. :)

@Edgar: what are you looking for in terms of workflow? Examples?

@CFP: I looked all over the forum for a fix for these vertical stripes..
But they are not static and I found no way until now..

42
many firewalls nowadays just make everything a threat that is not in their database or is written in a specific language.

43
hello,
what are you referring to?
split files are now handled automatically in RAW2GPCF.
Does the newest version of RAW2DNG not join split files itself?

On an unrelated note, here is the thread I made for my trailer,
for the upcoming short film "Elementarschaden" - shot on 5DII RAW with Zeiss Primes:
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=7069.msg58923#msg58923

44
Hello Guys,

I am happy to share with you the trailer for our Short Movie "Elementarschaden",
which means as much as "Damage from natural Hazards" -
about a fictional Incident, taking place during the real flood catastrophe in Germany, June 2013.

We shot on 5DMKII RAW and Zeiss Planar & Distagon Primes only.
The movie is now applying in all major film festivals in germany, therefore I can only publish a trailer for now.
I added English subtitles for your convenience.

I am happy to hear your thoughts! :)

regards

@scarluuk:
I dont have to change anything in the names, and can use the CDNG folders in resolve rightaway.

If you ask me, this really sounds like an issue with RAW2GPCF - talk to DANewman..

just watched on 2.5k monitor, really sharp. the forest scene looks unbelievably detailed. Looking forward to the BM4K ;)

48
wonderful. :)

49
@dirtcastle: i hope you get it working, also maybe test on another machine.

@eyeland:
1% did not send me links yet, and I don't see any specific reason for it.
If I get them I can update them for sure.
If you want to link them to me, I will include them.
You can also update them yourself and test if it works. :)

As soon as Cinema DNG Converter has commandline I will start working on 3.0

50
I also use the free version.
You can try to contact DANewman in the Cineform thread.
Maybe PM him or me your commandline, to check if smth. is wrong there.

If you correctly placed raw2gpcf and there is  no problem with your install, you might miss some prerequisites, he told me to try dependency walker when I was having problems.
Also check your source file. He posted a 5D3 source file some time ago in his thread when I was having problems.
I could transcode his source, and then I sent him some of my files to test, so he could update the software. :)
