I want to learn how to use Resolve but someone needs to confirm that it is possible to have the same quality I can get from Photoshop's ACR before I spend time on it.

Here is something from Resolve:

Here is something from ACR

Here is the DNG for download:

I think from the small pictures above is already possible to see that Resolve is noisier, have crap colors and can't really compete with Adobe Engine at any level.
But I might be doing something wrong, that's why I have put a link of the DNG to download. If someone can get better image simply using the Target tool, please let us know.

Sorry if this was answered somewhere here in ML Forum but I couldn't find.

I have a question: Is that possible to put my MKIII to record as fast as I touch the record button? I ask this because several months ago this was the norm with RAW_REC and with MLV I can't find how one can skip the "freeze time" before the actual recording.

I'm aware of this behaviour since I began to use MLV early in this year but in my last work (wedding) it brought me some small problems with a few takes.

Yeah, I'm using sound beep which is cool, but is not going to be very welcome in the next wedding I'm going to record, for example. I may very well end up using MLV instead of RAW with a lower volume bip (and the risk of having problems with audio sync).

I prefer PluralEyes sync with MLV instead of getting 100 takes and doing by hand with RAW, and the metadata is a good addiction as my lenses are color calibrated with DNG Profile Editor and I'm using ACR for CC. But I prefer much more the software batch/workflow that I'm already using compared to what is possible with MLV for now. In huge projects this can be a serious problem.

I know there are questions without answers yet, as software implementation has nothing to do with the ML RAW Team, but as I said before, I can really understand the questions raised by Midphase with this topic.

I'm one guy who have done 8 videos using RAW video with my MKIII and I have the same concerns as Midphase.

Still don't know if I should stick with RAW for now, 75% of me say yes.

Is there any possibility of someone making a new step by step guide regarding the new options structure of some of the latest Nightly Builds?
I'm trying to get a 1920x1080 video (1920x672 stretched).

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but whenever I try to put a frame rate of 48 or 60fps in the desired FPS, I got much less in actual FPS - something around 27fps.  :-[

Edit: Problem solved, I wasn't using the HD 720p 60fps option in Canon's menu.

This is my 5th video using Magic Lantern RAW.
I'm amazed with the improvements it made to my cinematography, I hope you enjoy this mini-doc.
Cheers from Brazil!

Here is my third video using Magic Lantern Raw with my 5D MKIII

Almost all of the images were recorded with ISO 3200/6400.
It is possible to download the video.

My Komputerbay 64GB 1000x card is a little taller than my other CF cards.
It is harder to put it trough my MKIII and CF Reader and I can bet that a wrong insert is the possible cause of the frying the camera.
Not that this is your fault. I'm extra careful with mine here because of this.

I'm storing the .raw files, should I store and backup the .dng ones instead?

I may be very wrong but if I remember well there were differences in how the versions of RAW2DNG were dealing with pink spots and banding.

Looks like the start bip of my MKIII is 3 frames away from the starting point of the image recording when syncing audio with my H4n.
Does anyone agree with this number too? This was with the latest 2 builds (except this one from August).

Unfortunately there is no subtitle for you English talking people but I think it is possible to still see the quality of the image.

Couldn't post in Vimeo because the file size (not a Pro account).
If someone wants to see the video I sent to YouTube here is the link:

I got 1920x1152 (24p) with my Transcend 128GB 1000x card too after a little warm up.
#40
Well, I don't know if it is the card or the firmware at the date that had a problem, but I was able to record this video here with Transcend 128GB 1000x:

It was recorded at 1920x1152px. After I turned the camera off, then I wasn't able anymore to record anything past 3 seconds, at any resolution.

You should remove the "s" from "https".

Here is a video I recorded last Sunday:

Equipment:
- Canon 5D MKIII
- Canon 45mm TS-E
- Zoom H4n
- Transcend 128GB 1000x CF

The workflow still is a nightmare for me, but I like very much the results.
Take a look at the dynamic range, I think the images can tell for themselves.
There was no grading, only a few adjustments in ACR as I do with every picture I take.

:D
