Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: ML RAW-tools for Linux
February 21, 2021, 02:04:57 AM
wow, I have never exported TIFF. I like the cameraraw import with adobe after effects. The MLV app on windows always left the contrast and white balance on how it was recorded. Even though it started with kelvin 6000.

What is the difference with TIFF.

I mostly change
chroma smooth to 2x2
in low light fix bad pixels
with strange light cyan highlight fix

DETAILS
sharpen (mostly) over 50
with strange light chroma blur radius + strength

I record in 5.7k 5d3 with 0 sharp -4 contrast -4 saturation 0 colour

update*
Somehow I got a error message importing both dng and TIFF

Exception occurred when opening file /home/meerkat/Videos/very beautiful/M20-2351/M20-2351_000000.tif: unrecognized XML syntax

Raw Video Postprocessing / Re: ML RAW-tools for Linux

Dear Community magic lantern

I just probably  made ubuntu work. I was happy that the mlv app worked though 5.7k isnt stable. Then importing the *.dng files to "natron" didn't work. Then I researched you must install a plugin. I saw a YouTube video installed all plugins. But that must have been wrong.

Is it possible that anybody can help me?

General Help Q&A / Re: RAW file extension
February 20, 2021, 05:45:19 PM
Dear Isabella,
you can use the "mlv app" to convert the DNG files into a normal.. *. mov video file and then of course you can use any editing Software. You need a fast card SD or older full frame cameras CF cards. These files can get big < 1gb.

May I ask what you are desiring to film?

thank you for your effort. I compare the normal Canon display with Sony and it is good enough for me. As I try to even record in 60p I would even try to look at the real motive rather than the camera. Hope that  is in Focus as a precaution film twice. My good old friend from Fenchel & Janisch also had to a wireless system.

Dear Garry,
How heavy is it? I often use with the DJI Ronin S.
I have never seen that built on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III?

#31
"Not sure if I follow you entirely here. Owning both an eos m and a 5DIII I don´t see much need of use..." (me also)
Of course it isn't necessary. Recording in 60p you still can push it more to the limits. I will do as you wrote. I didn't want to disturb.

Thinking about how a public/ stable version might look like? I think the 5. 7 k is a cinematic difference. Since Zeek makes quiet an often seen impression of SD uhs 160 that would be also available?
#33
Danne very funny ;) grey pictures also are for free:)
It is actually a stable version I think that somehow also with versions before I change sd160. When I start the camera new the whole magical Lantern reset it. That only happens with sd160 sometimes I write mlv files from CF to SD that works a little more stable without the sd160 if you know what I mean?
#34
I will test the built has anything changed with the "anamorphic advanced" Presets?
So that 25p in 5.7 still works. Similar than second and first version of 5.7 k?
Does the One screen "display Menü" work with only clicking menu?
#35
Hi
With one of the DNG settings it automatically has the 5. 7 resolution for Adobe after Effects.
I'm sure you'll know but the picture style should be adjusted and if you go under the advanced settings you even can record 25p also you can I just adjust the camera hacks sometimes the previews a little faster and a little more stable but I'm just on my way writing so I can't tell you in detail.

I would be careful if any definition is wrong you definitely can completely break your camera...

Rather power it with your gimbal.

Nö, I haven't found ML 101 tutorial (written or video) either, just to correct my previous speaker. With some of the ML versions there is no settings for 30 minute timer/powersave LiveView.
You would have to set the settings in the normal Canon menu.
Auto power off  / disable
To ensure you record over 30 minutes you could even make the file size smaller (-2/Q-scale/0,5) skipping to the next video after 30 minutes would be maybe a little faster.

A more amateur question. Would the latest build 5.7k crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_isogain_1x3_presets_2020Dec11.5D3113.zip
Be in the stable release?

And from the mlv app you can use
DaVinci resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro if you convert to DnG.
Just to be ridiculous with setting FPS override you could possibly get 1080p with approximately 33 FPS without audio :)
When I used to record with 5d mark ii you could use twixtor. By the way if a you are disappointed with only 60 FPS the advantage would be a shutter speed with 1/60.

Just to compare with new cameras with 4K in 120fps

Danne must be correct.

But if the priority is the FPS I would just use something like the Galaxy S10 or others and adapt (ulanzi dof) with the expensive Canon EF lenses you can achieve up to 240fps in 1920*1080.
The best quality seems to me the 5.7k magic lantern setting. Even though you can't record that in 60 p you can edit it together for Skateboard videos.

These are just a few examples how I am filming.

Dear Paul Harwood,
Basic mistakes are the picture Style with absolutely no contrast and sharpness and saturation? Sometimes seems to me the mlv files a little less bright maybe if your rise ISO  then maybe your problem gets less?
In the mlv app fix cyan. Chroma collection 2x2 or if it is only in Full HD 3x3 there is even a fix for banding. Stealing your build I guess isn't for the purpose in 4:3. Maybe you the nightly builds would be better?

Also 5.7k (anamorphic) is the max. 24fps.
But I thought with write speed approx 95mbs somehow maybe 25 f. p.s. would be still possible?
#43
So it Must have been a hard disk failure.
The question asking myself do we have to counting that in the future? Or can the website get most stable?
#44
Sorry to write something random in a topic magic lantern been completely offline could anybody update me out of happened?
#45
I would say the best is the DJI Ronin S Mark bones only uses a handle. And mlv  app has a stabilizer if you want to really save money

Maybe Duel iso would be good cheek often uses the EOS m for RAW  VIDEOS. The chef got no four even no room for the smaller camera compared to the 5D III I would just shoot with my mobile with Lightroom you also can you get RAW pictures.

With recording in 5.7 K I have no possibility to fix the highlights they appear pink with the slightest contrast change. Can anybody help me to achieve more beautiful pictures?

The mlv App works good with Videos. In Lightroom exporting with magic lantern is more difficult. Does it have the same Sharpness?
The pictures look unique it is tempting 2  making pictures with Duel ISO
