In this case you don't have to. Just keep object center.  But some complex situation Ghost Image with Auto Update works great. It's kind of stop motion. Also you don't have to use tripod with Ghost Image. Of course AE Warp Stabilizer for final touch :)

Wait, you align every single frame manually with the ghost image? Crazy!

It calls hyperlapse or walklapse. You need move tripod every single shot. I dont know did he use it but magic lantern ghost image feature help a lot.

Amazing video! How did you do the timelapse with movement that starts on 0:20 seconds ?

Do you have an automatic tripod?

you should have a new menu for the module loaded last item to the right
Thats the problem :) M menu is there(top right). Raw_rec compiled with no problem and copy paste ML/MODULES/raw_rec. It says "load modules... Loaded." But Movie menu still same no raw menu added.
#54
I have no problem with compiling but when i come back to camera and click "Load Modules Now" it says "Linking, Init modules, Modules Loaded". But i guess nothing loaded. There is no change in Movie menu.
#55
Ok got it :) So our limit is still 1 sec. exposure for fps override without patterns even combine with RAW.

Or we should use intervalometer & Silent Pics with 1/31 shutter limit.
#56
Let me clear. After vsyc with RAW, we will see same vertical patterns? Nothing will change? Sad :(

Quote from: a1ex on May 11, 2013, 06:17:11 PM
Raw recording has nothing to do with that noise (it's just another image format).
#57
If im not wrong, FPS Override will combine with RAW recording. Not now, but developers working on it. After that there will be no vertical noise patterns. So be patient :)

Both USB 3.0(Mainboard slot and reader) Also USB 2.0 limit is 480Mbps(60Mb/s) not 20-25Mb? I have tried ATTO on my 16 Gb. transcend flash it shows 35 mb read speed.  My CF looks like slower than flash memory :)

Anyway thank you so much for your attention.

Quote from: 1% on May 01, 2013, 07:01:34 PM
Also your reader plays a factor... I think speeds like 90MB/s need USB3
#59
Just tried ATTO benchmark test on my PC. I guess my card isn't real 600x. Its 133x-200x. Maybe it's fake, i don't know.

Left side is mine result. Right is from GAVTrain

#60
I also found this page. It says "If you want to take full advantage of your professional CF card, leave the SD slot alone"
http://www.borrowlenses.com/blog/2013/01/tip-optimize-canon-5d-markiii-write-speeds-avoid-sd-cards/

If i am not wrong, there is no way to use ML on CF Cards.
#61
Specs says not megabit, its megabyte. Also 600x -almost- standard speed isn't it?

Not expecting 90 Mb/s but 50-60 Mb/s ok for me. But 20Mb/s is average sd card speed.

And yes Kingston is slow. This charts also says that. Around 55 Mb/s write speed. But still better than 20Mb.

Quote from: 1% on May 01, 2013, 05:28:32 PM
Spec in megabits or that is read speed?

Kingston is slow... I looked at their sd cards trying to find a 128gb locally... no good.

Also could be spec'd for a different UDMA interface that 5d3 doesn't support... as with 6D and 208mhz UHS.
#62
I just tried read-write speed benchmark on my 5D3. My CF Card is Kingston 600x Ultimate.(http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/cf-u3_us.pdf)

I was not expected 90 mb/s read-write speed but benchmark says its around 20mb/s. It's same as my SD card. What's wrong or what did i miss?

Kingston Ultimate 600x CF Card

Product specs say "90 Mb/s write and read speed" But seems like it's not

In the future is it possible to preview DNG images from the camera?

For me just shutter speed limit is problem. But i guess it can solve after RAW Fps Override feature.
#66
Nope. Doesn't work. Always shows right side and cannot change position.
Quote from: Francis on April 15, 2013, 03:39:22 PM
You can move the ghost image using the directional pad.
#67
On 5D3 Ghost Image only works for Panoroma? I'm trying some stop motion thing but ovelay always shows little bit right side.(I guess this way works for panorama). Ghost image still needs to be improvement for 5D3? Or it just works for pano shots? I'm using 11.04.2013 Nightly Build.

Thank you.

Camera-specific Development / Re: Canon 1DX support?
April 03, 2013, 04:16:56 PM
I understand all developers uncomfortable feeling. And they are right. Modifying or changing 1D series firmware can be dangerous and maybe they can stop all ML development cause of legal issues. 1D series are "pro" cameras. And they are very expensive cameras...

But  investigating firmware is illegal? I mean, I was using my 550D with 1/8000 shutter speed. But default is 1/4000. So we steal something from 5D, 1D series cameras.

In April, Canon releases their new 1DC firmware with 25fps, 60fps with 1080p and 120fps/720p. For example, assuming that i find a way to use 120fps on 5D3 whats different using 1/8000 shutter speed on 550D?
#69
I guess they need a firmware. There is no camera, no firmware and it's just a rumor.

Nikon V1 already has this feature. It has some limitation(1 sec record). But I hope it gives an idea to record 1080p raw.

Nightly builds don't have 5D3 built in. You need to download the source tree and compile it with 'make 5D3', then copy the autoexec.bin to a bootable SD card, along with the other files from the 5D3 release. You can build it quite easily if you grab one of the virtual machines set up with the dev environment.

I have uploaded a 5D3 autoexec.bin from latest source head here:

http://www.freefilehosting.net/autoexec_1

I take no responsibility if this damages your camera.

Now problem is solved. Thank you so much. I saw 5D3 changes in changelog so I thought Nightly Builds works with 5D3.

Thank you again!

Obviously, if you copy ML for 5D2/550D/etc it won't work on 5D3.

My reply was to a user who compiled ML himself.

I use nightly builds (http://nanomad.magiclantern.fm/nightly/). This files do not work with 5D3? Should i compile it from source code??

Low level format, copying developer fir file to non bootable SD card, update firmware from camera without ML files(It says some error like there is no ML files), remove card and copy autoexec.bin and ML folder, making card bootable with EOSCard. Doesn't work. It's not Eye-Fi card. Kingston 32Gb 100x Sd card.

#72
Alpha 3 works ok. But problem is 5D3 with Nightly Builds. A1ex says there "Try the developer FIR, make the card bootable and should work." When I make SD card bootable (with or without autoexec.bin, developer .fir and ML folder) camera doesn't open.

Without bootflag it Nightly builds doesn't work too. I don't make card bootable just copy developer 5d3 .fir file, autoexec.bin and ML folder it says "enable bootdisk :)" but there are no Magic Lantern on trash button. (Also "Set" button does not work with this option. Summary: No ML and No Set button work)

Also I guess Stable Magic Lantern 2.3V jun 2012 can not work with 5D3 anyway.

Add: Is there any different way to make SD card bootable? I'm using EOSCard with enable 0x047 and 0x05C.
#73
I'm trying to use Nightly Builds on my 5D3. And I  have tried;

1- low level format in the camera,
2- adding fir file to SD Card( http://a1ex.magiclantern.fm/bleeding-edge/5D3/5D3-113-bootflag.fir )
3- download latest nightly build and copy to sd card
4- making card bootable on EOSCard
5- try to update .fir process in camera

But my 5D3 doesn't work with bootable card. It does not open. Tried without ML files and it's same. I guess when i make card bootable, camera does not recognize it. What did i wrong?

Thank you.

Edit: Of course using firmware 1.1.3
