If you don't have an AUTOEXEC.BIN file in the root directory of your card - after using EOScard *and* extracting files - I suppose your explorer settings are hidding them. It is highly unlikely using two different methods producing exactly the same error.

Redo the EOScard utility method once more and follow instructions.

1-4 will fail to get you a bootable card. EOScard will do.

Just tried that. EOS Utility won't let you do it without card and I know of no other way but I'm no developer. Maybe some "staff" member has a solution for this.

It is possible the camera's card detection switch is out of order. But this is just a wild guess.

Put SD-card into cardreader, format it with NTFS or EXFAT, reinsert it into cam. Format card there if prompted to do so.
If not: Reset cam to factory defaults (including Fn settings), remove battery, insert battery.

Remove battery, insert battery and try again.

3. 650D looks a bit like 7D, but I´m not sure about this.

Don't get me wrong but do you have data to back this opinion? Other than mine, of course ...
I've written before: I have strong reservations about my own datasets because of the very same problem you run into with 600D.

I made another test with my 650D. The data I get are pretty funny. I got datasets like 22 (ML) and 31 (exif).
I'm pretty convinced ML does not read the same sensor data as Canon is using for EXIF.
I had the cam outside again (about 8 deg. Celsius) for this test.

Wild guess: Makes sense if ML and Canon use different sensor output. Cam turned off for a while and all cam parts will have the same temperature. -> No (or small) difference between ML and Canon temperature at the beginning of meassurements. When running hot -> Difference will rise and then drop but you will see some gradation.
Don't have an environmental chamber to verify/falsify this one.

Maybe I got it all wrong but I have strong reservations those data will be of any use.

Is there someone around willing to tear down his/her 650D and use a IR cam and/or some coolant on PCB ...

Debug -> Benchmarks -> Card R/W benchmark (5 min) or Memory benchmark (1 min)
will give detailed build info.

6738
Correct.

6739
There are three things necessary to make ML run:
- Camera bootflag set (has to be set once). If set the cam will search for a bootable memory card. This will cause a 2 second delay at startup.
- Bootable memory card (= each card you want to run ML from)
- ML directory and Autoexec.bin on card root directory.

Issue with 5D Mark III is that the cam's bootflag cannot be removed in a safe way. The developers are working on it.

You have to decide: Tragic Lantern offers more features, ML nightly has not all features implemented (yet).

Put the cam outside into the cold^h^h^h^h warm spring air.

19   18

I don't trust these numbers at all ...
If someone with a 650D and a little time is able to redo this test ...
would be helpful.

You got it right, Edgar!
There is only one dataset (6th: 43/42) where the Exif number is lower.

Could you provide some higher temps, too?

Put cam on top of radiator right now ...
Anyway: You are sure Canon and ML are reading the very same sensor?

RAW or Canon's H.264? If RAW: Sorry, your cam has a very slow SD-card interface and there is nothing you can do about it. Look into http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=6215.0
