Camera-specific Development / Re: Canon 50D
March 06, 2015, 08:17:04 PM
Commited changes in main branch's code will start new builds for all platforms (but 5D.123). No matter if your cam is affected by those changes or not.
But there were two changes affecting 50D, too:
MLV was limited to 40 GByte for a take: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=9848.msg141340#msg141340
+30 minutes MLV/RAW recording without frames lost: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=14644.msg141430#msg141430

Delete ML directory and Autoexec.bin from card. Copy extracted nightly contents to card.

There is no stable build for 6D therefore you will not be able to do it wrong by following installation procedure described in the nightly download page.
This is where you find the uninstallation procedure, too.

Seems to got lost in transition.

If this will be implemented again I strongly suggest switching has to convert color temperature into Fahrenheit, too!

By the way: What about an April Fools' Day build? Temperature in Delisle scale, Discordian calendar, focal length in au, focus distance in fathom ...

Suppose you're asking for SD-card interface limit in MByte/s:
Give or take

4k is not a problem.
RAW is not a problem.
24/30 fps is not a problem.
Put those terms together and you opened a can of worms.

CF-Card specs for UDMA-7: Up to to 167 MByte/s.
5D3 will max out somewhere below 125 MByte/s.

Please make yourself familiar with those bandwidth issues. You need equipment with serious performance for 4k RAW recording.

Class 10 says the card is able to do 10 MByte/s writing.
Run Debug tab -> Benchmarks -> Card R/W benchmark (5 min). Press play button soon after starting benchmark to switch to "Playback mode".

Bandwidth needed for DCI 4k native resolution) RAW uncompressed:
Horizontal resolution x vertical resolution x frame rate x 14 / 8 = Byte/s
4096 x 2160 x 25 x 14 / 8 = 387 072 000 -> 369.14 MByte/s

And 40 MByte/s is 6D's SD-card interface's limit. No matter which card you will insert.

Please do some reading about 4k recording requirements.

720p25 will do. SD-card interface is limited to about 40 MByte/s.
Look at the number ML is giving you at the bottom.

ML not yet available for 7D2.
Top of page -> Downloads -> Browse Nightly builds -> Features
At time of writing Dual-ISO in video mode and HDR video not working on 50D/7D.
Outdated RAW capability chart: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=6215.0

Top of page -> Downloads -> Browse nightly builds -> 700D.113
Format card inside cam
Download file -> Extract contents -> Copy extracted contents (ML directory, FIR file and AUTOEXEC.BIN) to card (cardreader)-> Insert card into cam and run firmware update. Follow screen instructions (as in "restart cam before 30 seconds timeout hits").

Just impossible.

Quote from: menoc on March 06, 2015, 03:50:44 AMIs eXFAT enabled on the 50D?
No.

Quote from: menoc on March 06, 2015, 03:50:44 AMHeat is a big issue with 50D. I have not been able to do 30 min continuous in RAW.

Quoterecord as long as you like and battery/card's memory size*/temperature limit allows.
And 2nd reply

And the question is?
#6691
That's why I posted this:
No workaround needed.
Not a single frame lost.
#6692
For external recording? I'm afraid it does not: http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=14638.0

EDIT: Seamless HDMI/USB recording implemented in experimental builds for some time.

And another one, blade:

MLV recording. Start recording and press Loupe(+) -> Cam stalls, screen frozen. Have to remove battery.
Can you confirm?
My 7D just don't care pressing loupe button and keeps on recording without zooming in.
#6694
Differences that low in a single sample test don't have any significance.
#6695

I bet you won't see reproduceable differences. I you have time you may prove me wrong.

Confirmed,
I can trigger e.g. dim display by pressing info, however can't trigger it by lcd sensor.

Thanks! Bug report: https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/issue/2218/option-use-lcd-sensor-on-not-enforcing
#6699
Small bug in Powersave options?

Prefs tab -> Powersave in LiveView -> Use LCD Sensor ON
doesn't work for me. It should force selected powersave options if triggered but won't.
Someone out there able to confirm this bug?

You may want to press trashcan button.
