Then an updated  5D3-123 build would be welcome  :)

Right now I use 2014 Sep 26 (FIX) Mercurial changeset: bf22c22b62f6 (5D3-123)

The intervalometer tests were made using shoot like crazy

I have tried to time it. I have measured about 5 seconds delay between shots (Tv set to 15sec). I guess selecting 25 sec instead of 15 sec will make the 5 sec gap less important.
#28
I have been using the 5D3 2014 Sep 26 FIX version. Granted I have not used it much but some tests of full res silent picture (with or without intervalometer) worked  fine. So no errors to report.

I only wished i had access to speeds as low as 25 sec (instead of 15sec) for milkyway timelapses though.

But I owe a big thank you to all you ML developers anyway...
#29
Give me some time to search again since I have it for some time. I believe though it was in the silent pictures thread.
I will come back.

In the mean time plz read this

EDIT: I cannot find them! I have found this instead:

General Help Q&A / Re: 5D M III - Firmware version...
January 04, 2015, 01:07:35 PM
The real version may be included in the firmware and not in its name. And its internal integrity may be protected via a hash function (CRC, MD5, SHA)...

Your response is BS! I tried to not be rude (although you are) but I cannot.

1. DO you have access to 1.3.3 firmware?

2. Is 5D3 ML updated lately?

3. I said rather low I did not say zero!

I hope you were not referring to me saying BS as I have no intention to imply anything negative. I just feared that IF there is such a firmware we will wait for long until someone capable of ML programming ports it or by then a new 5D will exist and attention will shift to it.

If they do not allow firmware downgrading it is practically the same as locking since the possibility of an updated ML is rather low.

It was a question not a suggestion! I should have clarified it though because I admit it does not help.

Did you format the card in camera and then copy the ML files from the PC to the SD card?

At least this is what I have done in both of my 5D3s and I had no issue...
#36
Quick question: Is the latest version the Nightly.2014Sep26 (22:33:23) or there is an even newer build?

Thanks

#37
I guess you have to enable RAW and either choose "Auto Switch card" or "Rec to Multiple" options.

So as to be able to write RAW even on SD card when CF is missing.

TEST:
I have selected RAW (only), "Rec to Multiple" option and removed my CF card. I have enabled DUAL ISO and it works.

I have installed ML on both of my 5D3s since June. No problem. The bootflag issue is resolved now (it can be removed by installing again and waiting for 30 seconds...)
#39
Give Alex a break I bet he is already on that (judging from previous DUAL_ISO bugs).

In the meantime may I suggest to shoot alternating dual_iso and normal shots so at least to have a working raw file?
#40
I had a 5D3 and a 5D2. However, a few moths ago I sold my 5D2 and got another 5D3. So I changed the poll accordingly...

Other: drop video and release a cheaper stills-only camera :->
+1 but (almost) 1Dx like fast with very low noise and huge DR  :)
#42
Other:

1. THE OBVIOUS: Lower Noise / Increased DR.
2. Exposure Compensation with Auto ISO in Manual Mode (Just like 1Dx)
3. Minimum shutter 1/8000 (instead of current 1/250)  in Auto ISO Manual Mode (Just like 1Dx)
4. 8fps

the 'real sensor upgrade' :D
... it is coming at a company near you. It is the legendary EOS 5D MarkIV  :D :D :D

You''ll just have to wait a couple of years  ;D

Since I'm a noob I don't understand your question. Firmware version 1.1.3
Go to the Modules Tab  and activate the module you need (in your case ETTR). Turn your camera off and on.

I feel really dumb for asking, but where is the download for ML for the 5D Mk  III? Your download page only shows a version 2.3 released July 2012.
In the download page click "Nightly Builds" and then from the drop down list select 5D3.123-bleeding-edge

Another silly question; I installed this version from a 16gb sd card to try it out. I tried the uninstall instructions but it just seems to go through the install procedure again...
It does give me 30s to remove the boot flag. Do I need to let this run for it to uninstall correctly?
Yes, wait patiently ... 30 seconds  :)
#47
Just tested it on my 5D3! Superb!

I would like to thank you for 1.2.3 + bootflag removal support.

It works wonderfully. I tested it on my new (2nd) 5D3.

Then I verified the shutter count. It was 132 after my playing enough so it was new. You see when I got it I put a card without formatting it. It contained photos. I took some pictures then formatted. I saw numbers starting from 500 and I worried.

I knew it was my mistake the moment I switched cards and the number jumped to 900!

But now I verified it. Yet another plus for ML.

Thanks again...

It's not a rumor when one of two main developers says it.

Alex, if this is your site why not stop allowing support or distribution for anything TL related on the forum. Flush it out.

I wouldn't even use ML if it wasnt for you or g3gg0.

I understand it's open source but as long as it's here it will always be confused with the main ML build. Especially since people are ignoring your warnings and bricked cameras are starting to show up.
To tell the truth the very thought had crossed my mind but I was reluctant to suggest it. I would feel comfortable with this though. Code for the current and future (if any) modules could be stopped being free and just distributed between a couple of trusting developers from now on for example.  We (users) can always test the nightly builds...

Thanks to Chris_overseas there is major advancement in support of the
current 1.2.3 firmware of the 5D3, a milestone in my eyes.

I am pretty confident that the boot flag issue can be solved as well,
and that the support of 1.2.3 will definitely bring in more people testing.

This in turn might bring a boost of interest and consequently attract more
developers.
+1000

These are the improvements I am waiting for to put ML to my 5D3.

But while waiting I refuse to upgrade my 5D2, the sole reason being using and testing ML on this.

So there is still the 5Dx family and the 50D. It would be a pity to leave us. You know people believe in ML.
