yeah, thats a good example for both, hot and dead pixels. interesting as well are Eos M, 650D because of their On-Sensor-AF-Area.

Does that mean that the new algorithm is now integrated in ML and that we therefore do not need this workflow anymore ?

Neutral density filters are in use to run fast lenses in bright sunlight without stopping down. They come in fixed variety and as variable ones (aka Vari-ND).
