You can copy the files on your cf card from here: http://pel.hu/ML/magiclantern-7D.203.Alpha2.zip

I've refreshed the files in the zip here so EOScard can download this version from now.
Also updated EOScard itself (bugfix).
The file_man.mo is  the newest with the date info.

Now i'm in the step that says: click OK and Select the firmware.fir file from the first folder. Click OK Again. Now is that the firmware.fir file I just made.. and should I select the one from the card or the same file from the folder where I made it?

DOOOH--- my bad.. Had the wrong folder.. sorry..  :o

Now I need to sound stupid.. I tried the tutorial britom did via Parallels (Yea yea I'm a mac dude). But when I try the "Type bspatch.exe 7d000123.fir firmware.fir patch.bsdiff and press enter" I get an error that says bspatch.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or patch?!?! Any idea?

Stay in ML set up the video hacks and after that enable Sound via menu.. If it stops recording right away you have too High X bitrate.. Or a too slow card.. Lower The values..
#32
Do you think you can get the framerate up to 24 or 25?
#33
I didn't understand a word of what you just wrote.. but I'm looking forward to the next alpha anyway ;-)
#34
Agree.. g3gg0 - you do hell of a job here..

Thanks for the replies g3gg0 and jphansen.

jp- does your juicedlink set-up allow you to monitor what is actually being recorded by the camera?

I am feeding my audio through a Sound Devices 302 mixer. I can monitor at the mixer level but not the camera level. Two very different things.

g3gg0- I read on another site about the set up I detailed in my original post- that write up indicated it worked- which leads me to believe I am doing something wrong. I'll continue working at it.

Thanks again,
Jim

Its All about the level meter.. You cant trust the "true" level from output of the cam.. what if your earphones mess up the audio? To avoid noise you have to do it that way.. If You crank up the rec level in the cam you will get way too much noise :-/ in my setup I have the rec level i click from the lowest rec level on the camera - that way the juicelink boost the level up from the clean juicelink preamp And I get clean audio.. go see some Of the videos at juicelinks site.. There is a lot to learn from :-)

Hello Magic Lantern team and users,

Recently loaded to my 7D and really appreciate the hard work that is going in to developing this product.

I'm looking for some guidance. I am trying to monitor audio through headphones on my 7D with ML loaded. I'm using the USB to RCA cable that came with the camera- attaching that to an RCA to mini adaptor cable- plugging that into a Fiio headphone amplifier and plugging my headphones into the Fiio.

In addition, I have a Small HD DP4 hdmi monitor plugged into the camera as well.

I'm not getting any audio to the headphone whether in standby or when recording. I do see the audio meters when recording but not in standby.

Any help would be appreciated in solving my headphone issues.

Thanks and can't wait for the next update.

Jim

I have never tried that way.. I have a JuiceLink.. Connecting my mic and headphone to the juiceLink and from the juiceLink to the cam.. Everything works that Way?

Well I meant. Bigger file = better quality.. Maybe more details in the shadows and stuff like that.. But it doesn't mean sharper image.. Thats your lens that have to do that job..

Quote from: lukasildza on December 05, 2012, 05:32:04 PM
So I should be satisfied because file is bigger? :D It doesn't matter to me, if file is bigger when quality is the same (by naked eye...but i dont need it to be better in some graphs and tests, i want beter video while shooting between trees and leaves!)
I am using 70-200 f/4 L IS, and Tamron 17-50 2.8. Both are very sharp in photography, and for video you dont need such a good optical quality(I have read somewhere), so i dont think this is reason.
#43
You should see something in the file size.. and that means there is more info = more details.. Naybe it's hard to spot.. And the sharpness problem could be the lens.. Most of the time a cheaper lens makes a less sharp image :-)

I know a little about audio.. When you set the 7D to manual.. you control the level in the menu.. is the volume set to the same level at both cameras?

If you want the best low noise audio you have to use a pre amp like JuicedLink http://www.juicedlink.com

Then you need to set the 7D to manual control and set it 1 step up from the lowest volume setting and boost the volume through the JuicedLink.

Check he's video's on the page..

When recording.. What level was the camera volumes at?
