Quality wise its exactly the same, but for now i prefer the old raw rec module cause its easier to process, at the moment i dont really need all the extra metadata of the mlv raw one.

i don't understand 90% of this thread, but seeing so many "DR" talk makes me so excited about the progress of the topic haha.

While we, re on the maximum speed subject. I, ve always been curious if the spanning feature applied to raw_rec would give that final extra mb to be able to record close to continuous in 50fps in full hd  :P

i dont think 50fps in fullHD can be posible, but that would be awesome!

tried to use latest version with a bunch of mlv files, and the app crashed. bummer.

windows? any?
#82
add mlv and dual iso support plz
#83
how can i batch process in windows?
#84
can the sound recording option work with old raw rec?

it would be great for me because its way easier to process the old format than the new one. (and you can record a little faster)

nice work here, hope to see native support for mlv format and dual iso mlv format somewhere in the near feature.

hey guys, i'm planning to visit Hong Kong in a couple of weeks and i'm interested in buying a cf card that can sustain 1080 30p raw recording in my mark iii, can anyone give me any advise on a particular card and/or any place in Hong Kong to look for this?
#89
Why do you prefer shooting with a 6d intead of a 5d mark iii?
#90
not sure why, tamasola also had the same problem, but just to clarify, if you format exfat from computer the whole 256 gb appears in camera? hope you can test with other than 24p so we can know how fast is this camera in practice. Thnx anyway.
#91
hey rungunshoot, can you extend your review about the 256 gb card?

*what brand?
*24, 30, 48, 60 maximum res for continious shooting?
*format in camera formats the whole card?

cheers!

Nice to hear the sandisk card works well on the mark iii, you didn't mention 1080 30fps, i'm guessing its not possible. Hope someone could update the test of the KB 256 in the mark iii, that card its way cheaper than the sandisk one, and in theory its way faster.

any updates of dual-iso implementation?

I'm marking the topic as IMPOSSIBLE, until you will be able to prove me wrong.

badass

last time i shot dual iso i had a lot of aliasing and moire problems, that kept me form shooting any more with it, but that was when dual iso started, what are your thoughts about those problems nowadays? should i give it a second try?

I am actually searching for a "proof" of that... Can you think of a test someone did to cover this? I've the feeling i've seen something in this regard... but where

I'm not sure where can you find a test, but from my shooting experience where i constantly learn from my mistakes i'm 99% sure about my statement, just be careful with clipping stuff (the sun, the moon, lamps, windows) unless you have to do it in order to have your main subject well exposed.

the cr2hdr-hot.exe work pretty good but if you drag more than 40 pics in one single click it will crash somewhere around picture 40; hope you can fix that so i can leave mi computer processing tons of photos (+1000) while i'm not home.

i think its a myth to expose with a lower iso to get less noise, actually i always expose to the right, even if its not raw, and if you want a darker shot just under expose it in post, that way you get way less noise even at high isos.
