Reverse Engineering / Re: [PICS!] Inside the canon 1100D

Bad News  :(
Canon Service wont replace the camera. The replacement cost would be 350€. And they charge 20€ for that diagnosis plus tax plus shipping back to me :(

As soon as i have it back i´ll send it to nanomad so he can take some pictures of it.

Who needs a full frame sensor when you can get a whole scanner ? ;)

Who do all these guys think they are... right now you can buy a car for 4k or even a house if you get a foreclosed one.

ahm ..... i didnt say that ill be buying one. Im a poor student right now ;) I was just impressed with the fact that RED dropped the price from the Red one form 25000 to 4000 $ overnight. And thats not too far away form the 5D MKIII.

General Chat / Re: Limiting factor in burst mode
October 31, 2012, 06:25:51 PM
hm i thought just about the photo mode. the eos 7ds burst mode is 8 fps the 550d is 3.5 and the 1dx is up to 14 fps. All at full fesolution. I mean if the mirror would be locked all the time what frame rate would be possible at lower resolution ? 1080 resolution is about 1/10th of the full resolution so the bitrate would not be higher than recording video i think.

General Chat / Limiting factor in burst mode
October 31, 2012, 03:17:20 PM
I wonder whats the limiting factor in Jpeg Photo burst mode. Of course the shutter and the mirror are mechanical parts that have to be operated. But what if we disable the mechanical shutter and mirror and use an electronic shutter like in movie mode. The bitrate isnt too high . I mean 1080p / 2k jpeg images arent big at all.
Is the digic processor not fast enough ?

Do you see what i mean ?

@ 1%  i did that already :) but still a little bit corrosion on some parts ( way better than before). But the metal hood that covers the digic 4 is rusted badly. so i spraid it also with rust remover. i dont think the camera will ever work again. im just trying to make it look shine and send it in to canon service.

Ill also sand down the corroded fcc cables. we`ll see what happens. maybe she will be usable again but i dont really think so

they go directly to the main PCB ! ill post a picture !
#13
started spraying the PCBs and some metal parts with rust converter spray ..... lets see what it does. I`ll post the results tommorow.

@nanomad  heres the picture you asked for http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/138/img3543a.jpg/

The very small part of the fcc cable is for the connection in the battery bay

Shure ! But the bitrate i mentioned is at 4k .
so about 1/4 at 2k so it wold be also possible with sd card write speeds

General Chat / Information on RedcodeRAW
October 29, 2012, 12:50:53 PM
Very interestion information on the RedcodeRAW:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/REDCODE

So its bases on jpeg2000 and on Red one the maximum bitrate was 224 to 336 Mbit/s
..... not too much

would also love to have this on the 550d !

/ Dream mode on

Pulling 2 Megapixel 1080p RAW frames at 24fps
:-*

/ Dream mode off
