Using 256gb CF cards and lossless compression gives you 80min+ rec times on one card. Really good if you wanna film documentary or interviews in raw! A couple of 256gb cards and you're set for a whole day of shooting :-)
Mk3 ML raw + da vinci resolve is awesome!

Raw is Intensive on your recording media not on the cpu. Recording compressed video data is more process intensive = hot cpu (though the camera deals with this with dedicated chips that are tasked to handle the compression processing)

4K is overrated, higher bitdepth raw, dynamic range and lowlight performance is worth so much more. 2k Raw = sweetspot res vs filesize compromise.

I'm looking for a build that has these functions:

MLV crop 3x
MLV sound
10/12/14 bit lossless
lossless in camera playback
I don't need the 3k, 4k. 1080 for all is good.

Is there such a build?

No, the closest one is the crop rec + 10-12bit (without compression) build that was up on experiments until recently. It included sound module.

Is there any possibilities shooting 5796x3870@24p in the near future?
(8bit, 10bit or 12bit, not raw video such as .mov or mpeg is ok)

No, will never happen.

Have experienced the same problem. Couldn't fix it on the computer that crashed on first launch due to the virus protection kicking in. Got it working on my gaming pc though. Made sure that virus program did not interfere there. No reinstall/uninstall measures could get it working on my work pc though :-(

Buy a 256gb card. Use 10bit or compressed 14bit and get up to 90+ min recordings one one Card.

QuoteI just keep getting mlvfs stopped working when i try to test this new verison of mlvfs.
I installed the newer Dokany 1.0.3 and I'm using the mlvfs.exe from the link in this thread. (https://bitbucket.org/bouncyball/mlvfs/downloads/?tab=downloads)
I had standard mlvfs that worked previous to trying this build. And I uninstalled the older version of Dokany before trying out the new version.
Avast and windows defender went bananas when I first tried to execute it but since then I added exceptions for that library.
In the old version of mlvfs there were a bunch of other files besides the mlvfs.exe in the same folder so I also tried to add these to the new versions location but got the same stopped working error.

After installing this version of MLVFS on a win 10 computer at home without Avast (firewall/antivirus prog.) I got it working without problems. So somehow the initial crash that occurred when Avast virus search kicked in have permanently made mlvfs.exe crash on that computer.
I tried adding exceptions for mlvfs in both Avast and windows defender,  even uninstalling Avast, Reg edit cleaning tools, re-downloaded and reinstalled mlvfs and dokany. Nothing has worked so far.
Also recreated the same problem on a win7 computer that's also using avast.  After mlvfs crashes due to Avast virus check It keeps crashing every time you try to start it after that.

Does anyone have any Idea how one crash can make that file crash forever on that system even though you reinstall dokany and download the mlvfs-file once again?

I didn't get this new version working on win 10 though...
I get instant "this program stopped working" when executing mlvfs.exe.

Let me know if you have any luck on win 8

Any help appreciated.

Monitor can't show the hacked bw preview on external monitor. And canons liveview does not give correct representation of ML enabled modes.

Iso in raw is only valid for real Iso values. 100,200,400,800 and so on. The values in between is just digital gain applied to  h264 compressed video.

QuoteTried some of the new experimental modes on Fw 123 today. Looked really good but i could not get 1920x1080 45p continious on my Komputerbay 1066x I got around 10-20sek rec time. Has anyone achieved 45p continuous on FW 123?

I failed to recognize how noise at higher isos gives less effective compression. 1920 1:85 45p at  iso 800 seemes to be max cont rec for me.
#38
No lockups here. Only hard to get cont rec on alot of the sweetspot resolutions.
Some settings of mine:
Global draw on, canon in 720p all-I 50p mode, croprec 3x3 binning 1920x1080 47/48p @ 45p. Lossless 14bit.
Without global draw i could not get a bw preview in this mode.
Anything that sticks out?

The file size estimation got confused some times when switching between modes. It also got the wrong fps when switching. I went to photo mode and back as a workaround when this happend.

Still can't believe all this incredible progress isn't just a big april fools joke.

When recording on these new experimental builds the raw histogram switches over to the standard histogram on record. Have I missed some simple setting or is it i bug?

Yes the free version did the job! I'll buy the full version to support them though :).

Finally succeeded in recovering all the mlv files. Maybe this can help someone else:
Solution:
I formatted the corrupted KB 256Gb 1200x card with the same file system as before (exfat) and then afterwards I used recuva recovery tool and got all of the files with correct filenames back!

Raw Video / Working mlv-raw file recovery tool?
January 23, 2017, 01:14:48 PM
Has anyone had any success in recovering mlv-files from corrupted cards or drives? Photorec is supposed to have support for mlv but I can't get out any working mlv-files from it.
Help greatly appreciated!

Raw Video / Working MLV-Recovery Tool?
January 21, 2017, 02:30:00 PM
Is there a working recovery tool that can recognize and recreate mlv-files successfully? I have tried Photo rec on reading another post on the subject. However it doesn't seem to be able to recover them correctly.
Plz Share if you have had any luck with this.
Just had a partition corruption on a 256GB 1200x Komputerbay.

Update: After formatting the card with the same file system Recuva was able to recover all my files with correct file names :).

Is there a working 5d3 123 version with mlv 10,12,14bit and crop rec version available to try? I downloaded the one from experiments but it only had Mlv-Lite module for raw.

5d3 113 mlv + sound 10, 12 & 14 bit seams to be working for me as well.

:)

Gonna try 123 later.
