Been having this issue on and off for a while now, through 2 nightly builds (magiclantern-Nightly.2016Jun13.6D116 & current magiclantern-Nightly.2016Oct09.6D116).

Is this a current bug?

General Help Q&A / SD card failures during timelapse.
October 17, 2016, 11:17:15 AM
Hey guys,

I've been using ML for a few years now, and had the nightly build (magiclantern-Nightly.2016Apr01.6D116) on my 2 x 6Ds since this one came out. Mostly I have never had a problem with this version of ML but over the last 2 months have been getting the same recurring issue of my SD cards becoming unreadable by my camera and laptop from shooting timelapse.

This happened the first time about 2 months ago, it effected 2 different cards with ML. Then again last night effected my 128gb card, then tonight my 64gb card.

Fortunately I can recover the files, but would be good to get down to the root of the problem. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hey guys,

I recently shot a timelapse (holy grail) of a sunset to night time, however the settings weren't changing until the overall luminance/brightness (?) of the exposure got down to 10%? Is this normal? Can I or should I change this to 20% and if so, what setting changes that?

Probably a noob question but not sure what to do :)

The timelapse ended up being really nice, can be seen here – Easter Auckland: https://www.facebook.com/mackphotographynz/videos

Thanks!

General Help Q&A / ML on 600D - bulb ramping
March 17, 2014, 03:24:32 AM
Hey,

I have used my 600D for many day-night time lapses, but now I am having a problem.

When I choose bulb ramping, it comes up with this static screen, it tries to figure out the exposures, but after 5 minutes it still does this and never starts shooting? What's happening?

General Help Q&A / Confused about .UFR files
October 29, 2013, 02:14:21 AM
Hey,

So I have attempted a couple of timelapses over the past week, and now looking at editing them using the sidecart files. I have had a look through the main Flicker Free ETTR thread (http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=5705.0) but I am still a little confused.

I am on a Mac, and now I see I should have used .XMP files instead of .UFR files (grr). Now, how do I get the information from the .UFR files to work in Lightroom 5? I am no scripting guru so that stuff is a bit beyond me :(

Cheers!

As the title says, I'm heading out tonight to try my first real time-lapse on my 6D, yay!

I have used ML on my 600D for a year or so now, but have just a few questions though with the latest build.

As a start, I will be shooting a seascape with settings like this for the sunset:

1/400, ƒ4.5 and 100 ISO.

Now, when it comes to night time (will be having Bulb ramping on with the intervalometer), is there any way to set it so the last remaining 100 or so shots are on these settings:

25seconds, ƒ4.5 and 5000 ISO?

Is it just a matter of setting the Auto ISO maximum to 5000?
is there a way to start on ƒ16, and have the camera slowly go down to ƒ4.5 when the sunlight has completely gone? - not so concerned if I can't do this though.

Cheers :)

Feature Requests / ML EOS iPhone & Android Wifi app :D
October 19, 2013, 01:33:20 AM
This is just a dream, but worth putting it out there.

The current EOS Wifi app is fantastic on my 6D, but the features are bare minimal.
It would be bloody awesome if ML created a similar app, but with more functions like auto Bulb timer, intervalometer, video etc etc?

I would download the app straight away, even if it costs $50 to download!

What would the possibility be for this?

Hey,

I've made a video of a few of my time-lapses using Magic Lanterns Intervalometer function :)

Looking forward to next year, especially winter, to see how my TL's improve :)

Hey,

I've made a few TLs since installing magic lantern - wonderful software btw! I've mainly been shooting city timelapses at sunset, but as soon as the lights come on the buildings they overexpose (up to 3200 ISO!!), here's an example - I've reduced the exposures on the lights but still wish I could do better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSv5Sx2tW1U

So, can you manually set the maximum ISO for bulb ramping? I'd prefer it to adjust the aperture and exposure time, I usually use Manual mode.

This is on a Canon 600D, thanks in advance :)

General Help Q&A / Best sunset time-lapse setup?
October 25, 2012, 11:06:21 PM
Hey,

Took these shots yesterday, 1.5 hours of footage (1 shot every 10 seconds) but still trying to figure out the best bulb ramping setting for sunsets? How exactly do the settings work? Notice all the exposure jumps, how can I set it up to make less or run smoother? After using LR Timelapse it done a pretty good job of smoothing it out in poist, but what's the best practice for getting the shoot right?

:)

General Help Q&A / 600D - live view screen glitch
August 28, 2012, 12:11:05 AM
Hey,

I've been running the latest version of Magic Lantern on my 600D for 3 days now, and yesterday when I tried to take a photo using live view, it would show a rough visual then stall, pausing the image but blown highlights and lots of noise. Move the camera round to see somewhere else and the screen won't follow.

How can I fix this?

So I got home yesterday and saw there was going to be a cool sunset, quickly downloaded and loaded Magic Lantern onto my 600D but missed the sunset :(

But that didn't stop me from trying my first time-lapse video :)

Int he 1st scene, how can I get the metering to be a bit smoother? It seems to jump in brightness every 40-50 images? Best viewed in 720p :)
