Feature Requests / Waveform in wide mode
February 27, 2016, 04:54:12 PM
Can you add wide waveform view like Cineroid EVF has?
(http://www.cineroid.com/web/images/eng_pro_evf4rvw08h.jpg : style 1)

It will be much more usable for me.

( Note: FullScreen waveform is cropped on 5d mark II; Nightly.2015Nov07.5D2212 )

Feature Requests / AWB without shift
February 27, 2016, 04:27:55 PM
When I shoot a documentary video I sometimes mistakenly turn on "Adjusting white balance...".
This set wrong "White balance" and "WB Shift". When I switch to AWB by Canon menu (for fast fix) the "WB shift" is still wrong.

Is it possible:

1. turn on "Adjusting white balance..." by longer way for prevention
(e. g. by holding RATE button - similary as open ML menu by holding arrow button; or by double-click),

2. reset "WB shift" after set AWB?

Auto ISO is always 400 in manual photo mode :(

Magic Lantern did not fix it :(

I exported RAW video to MOV by MlRawViewer v1.4.3. Video is OK in Windows Media Player. But some screens are broken in Vegas Pro 13.0. Please how can I fix it?

for ML-developer:
I have 5DII. Is the problem "Exposure too long (max 16)." in settings in Canon menu?
( Live View/Movie func. set. > Metering timer > 16 sec. )
Can higher value could help?

How can I play *.raw video from 5D2 (not *.mlv)?

This does not work:
ffplay.exe -f rawvideo -video_size 1792x1008 -framerate 25 video.raw

Yes! Silent pics is good. I did not know that you can save photo to DNG. (I used it only in release version.)
Thanks

I read it. But I do not want to use shutter actuation :-( And "Full-resolution silent pictures" is not yet practically applicable.

Feature Requests / Rack Focus cycle
July 19, 2014, 05:20:15 PM
Please, can you add the choice of never-ending cycle to Rack Focus? I need it to make timelapse with large aperture.

There is some example:
http://youtu.be/YUFHRkHxJdQ
(1/13 F13.4 ISO3200 f300; MLV video)

The building is not in focus. ISO is in limits of usability. I had to make a compromise. If I set longer exposure, Moon woud be blur...

Rack Focus cycle is solution for me: focus to building / focus to Moon / focus to building / ...
(+ join couple of images in postproduction)

RAW recor tests with today nightly build
(5D2 with CF Transcend UDMA7 600x 32GB - indicated max write is 87MBps; RAW off, card warm-up 128MB, small hack on; restart camera before test, but no between measurement)

Test 1 (global draw off)
measured values: 651, 715, 627

Test 2 (global draw off + Turn off LCD and LV after 5sec)
measured values: 900, 1060, 918

with a 1000x card You can already get around 1,960 frames even with liveview on and not turning off your lcd. A 600x is simply too slow for what the 5D2 is capable of.

But this hack can increase number of frames on 5D2 with 1000x card too...

Feature Requests / Turn off LCD and LV after 0sec
August 18, 2013, 12:49:27 AM
I have 5D2 with CF Transcend UDMA7 600x 32GB. When I shoot RAW video in 1856x1044 24fps with configuration "Global Draw off" and "Turn off  LCD and LV" after 5sec ("Enable power savin: on Recording") I have about 800-1200 images. I think if the configure "Turn off  LCD and LV" could be set to "after 0sec" (unsupported value) the number of images will be higher. Yes - I can not see LCD display when I shooting but number of shots is more importantly for me...
