I'm willing to post some money (and am about to send the PM about such), but out of curiosity, is there a reason we are outright purchasing a 70d when around $55 can get a dev a week or so with the camera?

The main reason is that a week would accomplish nothing. The expected timeframe for having something that's usable is a couple of months *at least* . Take a look at all the other ports. There's still stuff that needs to be done almost a year after it has been declared as usable

With easter coming up, I'm thinking of collecting donations offers for another week or so before deciding what to do.  There's a form available to fill out if you are thinking of contributing (financially or not). Send me a PM if you are interested.

Canon EOS 70D (RAW possibility)

And no, it's not an updated 7D by a long shot

I'll check. You did everything right
#30
One can only hope, right? Wrong!
Help me find that datasheet [emoji12]

We  need the following :
Exact audio IC datasheet (I think it was posted some time ago, I'll need to check)
Figure out how canon does i2c (found something already)
Have an headphone monitoring cable on hand (I don't do video so I don't have it, it's secondary as I can blindly try to enable the function and hope it will work)
I think we need a free task in dryos (not sure). This is what I think I solved earlier this week but I'm not sure.

Focus confirm is something we can't just do right now because is missing from the Canon side, or at least I couldn't find the appropriate memory area.

Flickering is tricky because there's no proper vsync hook
#34
Nightly builds have a clear all overlays option that should do just that
#35
No because we can't reproduce it reliably

You got it wrong.

I'm willing to do the port myself. Full stop :)

Unless someone else steps up to do it, then I'll gladly step aside and provide guidance when needed

But yes, stressing that at this point the 70D port is not even close is a good thing to do. For all we know it may take time (A couple of months at least I'd say) to have something that can be defined as "kinda usable"

I offered to do it myself or at least to act as an escrow if someone else wants to do it. Si far no one has replied to my request to send me a PM if willing to contribute. I do restate my offer though.

Most of Canon high level code has a C++ feeling, with this being the first parameter. I don't think it's actual C++ though
#39
I never used 2.3 stable but as far as I understand your only option is to enable a ML menu option called movie restart. You will miss a couple of seconds between restarts but that's as good as it gets

Once more, there's no ML for the 70D because no Dev has it.
And dropping support for old cameras makes no sense since most of ML is camera agnostic. At worst older model won't get new features if no one finds the relevant stubs or adapt the code.
#41
The next nightly build will have the eosm installer (fir). Put in on the card along all the other ML files, run it once and you'll have both the card and the camera bootable. It also doubles as an un installer should you need it.
#42
It's the new installer. Safer, works out of the box without having to install the old alpha first

Merged. Thanks mk :)
#44
ML can't destroy cf cards.. Thermal damage is nowhere near possible as the camera will shutdown long before that.
#45
There have been no changes to the touch screen code
#46
May I ask what TL features are missing from ML for the 600D? Except for nitrate control
#47
Sure.
I'll be making The tragic Lantern Section read only anyway as there's valuable information that can be referenced around when comparing missing features.

Edit: done, can you confirm it works properly now?
#48
It depends on how they are done. If they simply override in memory values I don't see why they shouldn't make into ML.
If they require assertion patching they won't.
I've never seen the code so I can't say. A pull request to review it would be the best course of action.
#49
The current dual iso implementation assumes a constant address in memory for the iso registers, which isn't true for all digic v cameras.
I'll post a build later today with a different address location that may help.
#50
It's better if you do but I wouldn't worry too much about it
