Version 11 beta 2 fixes this (mostly), now it happens just on the color grading view when toggling the node view.

But yes, it's still annoying when trying to work quickly >:(
Yep, thats what I meant, now that it is out of beta I had hoped it is fixed, but it is still doing this! Am I the only one who is annoyed by this?

Thanks Satis, unfortunately there is no Dual Iso video for 5d2, thus I had to use HDR Raw video

Everything beside the aerial shots (from a GH3) was shot in RAW, thanks to all developers!

Has anyone found a way to permanently reset the workspace to fit the screen of the 15 inch macbook pro? Every time the view between tabs it expands beyond the constrains of the screen, utterly annoying!

Thanks a lot! I use a self made dolly mounted on roller-skate wheels and a fluid head tripod on top... nothing fancy  I am afraid!

We can stick our heads in the sand, or find a cure.
You can also point your fingers around instead of focusing on getting it fixed... I have used the 5D2 with ML and the EOS utility for years now and never encountered a problem, also tethered to android and laptops for live view  and can confirm it is absolutely stable.
How about you tell us more about your problem and see if we can fix this, or at least explain what you mean when you say 'the list of lost cameras is pretty long'... I am reading this forum a lot, camera emergencies usually catch my eye as I have to rely on my equipment for my income, I have yet to see a case I would truly be able to blame ML for, not only that but this has turned into the support forum Canon doesn't have since here you'll find people who'll actually want to help you.

Thanks, I didn't use any LOG or LUT in that clips ;)
Interesting, how did you achieve the desaturated look shown on the screenshots prior color grading then?
#35
Very nice work! What flat profile did you use (vision log or the paid cinelog?) also what was your base LUT?
Re: @egc; after this sort of statement it would be nice if you'd post a link to your all innovative style, not inspired by anything that ever existed before, something you know, in line with Tarkovsky's work for instance, if you can't provide us with that you'll just prove to be a troll criticizing the work of others because of their choice in color palette.

Renaming them worked like a charm; thanks for that! However when opened in Camera Raw it still doesn't pick the vision log profile... now I am puzzled! I keep digging and see if I can find out why...
UPDATE: It works, just had a typo in it! Thanks again, saved my day!
#37
Thanks Baldland, yes you are right; raw2dng seems to call it Canikon and Visionlog seems to need that to work, but how do I change this on 2000+ frames now? Thanks again for your help!

Thanks a lot for pointing this out a1ex, however I am still stuck... (please forgive my ignorance) I get as far as opening exif in terminal and opening the first dng file, I can see where it says "camera model name : Canon EOS" I assume it should say Canon EOS 5D Mark II, but I can't seem to change this by typing it as it only directs me to a new command line, also is there a way to batch convert all files? Sorry again, this is just way out of my league...

Here is my problem: I shot an interview a while ago and have a long .raw file that had to be joined as the it was originally split over several files. I am on a mac and realized that the raw2dng app sometimes doesn't see joined files as supported (it does in some cases, in others not, still haven't figured out why...) MLRawviewer does however seem to convert them fine. The problem is that MLRawviewer  however does not appear to append the correct Camera type data to the dng files and consequently the footage can not be turned into log using the vision log profile which I need to do in order to match it with the rest of my footage.
Therefore I a now trying to amend the dng files converted with MLRawviewer using exiftool to get to enter the right camera data in order to be able to convert them to log, (cause I am way in over my head with this already) but I really can't seem to understand how to get this done, can anyone guide me through the process of how to attach the right camera data to dng files using the exiftool on a mac? thanks a lot in advance!

I realized it has to do with my raw converter, I was using MLRawviewer, when I use raw2dng ACR picks the camera profile and vision log appears, too bad... mlrawviewer is a nice script and I liked being able to trim the clips before producing the dogs...
#41
Although I have managed to locate the right folder and placed the Vision Color preset it still won't appear in ACR, I had been using Visionlog for ages on PC but now that I switched to Mac I simply can't get it to work...
#42
Thanks for these pointers so far! Can anyone recommend a file joiner for RAW files on Mac? Also looking for a free HDR batch processing tool...
#43
Wow, this software seems mindblowingly powerful, but reading further down the thread thete still seem to be some unresolved issues like pink dots in highlights, etc...  Would you think it is worth spending a little money on rawmagic?
#44
Thanks a lot! I still shoot mainly raw files and havent touched the mlv format yet (mainly because I generally don't need sinced audio)  for conversion in Windows I used Batchelor, what would be a similar app on Mac?
#45
I've had it coming for a long time, but now that the motherboard of my work horse pc blew just a wonth after its warranty expired the moment has finally come: I am switching to Mac!
But behold, this shall not turn onto the old Mac vs Pc argument! All I am looking for are some pointers from the Mac Ml user community on what tools you use for your RAW needs: batch conversion, best practices, etc...
I know it is all in here on the forum but a few insider tips in this time of need due to work behind schedule worsened by brain frying chanves from nasty pc habits would be most appreciated!  Looking forward to your comments!

General Chat / Re: How to get this shot?

Shoot a skyline with an as uniformly colored sky as possible (you will mask it out with a color key and replace it with a sky image that matches your idea of the scene) head over to after effects and composite flash and the plane scene. You should find free tutorials on all this over at videocopilot.net, once done post it here!
#47
Great shots, did you use a polarizing or ND filter to make those skies pop like that? If yes it would be great to know what kind!
#48
Thanks a1ex, I guess I never found out cause I never let it finish...

I don not use AV mode often on my 5d2 but it repeatedly has happened to me that I needed it in the middle of the action only to discover that it was set to underexpose by two stops and could not figure out any other way to fix this then to completely reset the whole camera which is of course a very undesirable thing to do, especially when in the middle of the action... Now today I finally understood why this happens to me, having auto-bracketing turned on, and as I do so often, forgetting about it, I switched to AV mode wanting to take a quick snap. Once ML starts bracketing it will set AV mode to underexpose... but how to reverse this??? (other then resetting the whole camera of course!)

What you need is a USB 3.0 CF card reader, plugging it into a USB 2.0 socket will only affect the speed and won't put your cards in danger.
