Thank you for sharing that videos !

It could be interesting to know how they manage the CF transferts, what kind of workflow for data management, and editing / grading.

Happy to share with you that this Music Video has been selected for competition by a English Festival in the "Music Video" Category.
The clip has been also selected by a French movie Festival "HotMIlk", and by http://fr.trace.tv/ !!!

Shot with my 5D Mark III using an experimental 4K raw video recording build. Everything is shot with 14bit lossless raw at 50fps.
MLV files transcoded into DNGs using MLV App v0.12 alpha, edited and graded in Premiere Pro.

Very nice images !
Could you tell which build have been used ?
I'd like to test it.

dngs are not video, but "image" sequence, then audio is not link "by defaullt"
You must import both on the same time, line them, and link /group Audio + video to be able to move them on the timeline like "pure" video.

Ohhh Thank you so much "Guy" !

No I dont have this problem.
Those vertical stripes happend on your native DNG or after treatment in your NLE or Resolve ?

I use MLV Mystic.
It seems that there is better debayer tools, but I still use this old one without any problem.

QuoteCannot help you with the other app. The problem with mlv_mystic is that it doesn´t produce cdng files but dng files.

Thank you Danne, but I dont need cdng files.
dngs are just great files, enought to reach the quality I need in my productions, in my workflow.

Here are quickly edited images I did last saturday (dngs extract with MVL Producer...).

Those one extract with Mystic last week (for the same music video clip)

If somebody could send me Mystic (last version), it will save me time !

I just test Batch.mlv, and it works find, very simple to use ! It's seems to be an alternative (efficent and easy to use) !
Thanks very much Danne !

Help !

I'm using MLV Mystic for a long time now, and after a crash on a disk, I've lot the application.

The website to downoad it does not work !
Could somebody send me it for windows ?

I have a work to do, it is critical.

I dont like MLVraw Viewer, Producer...etc... Too complex, to much fonctions...I just need DNGs for DaVinci Resolve from the natives MLV, in a simple batch interface (drag and drop).
I just hate applications with command, I'm not engeneer...I prefer application with a simple interface, drag and drop, and function with buttons...

Help me Please !

Very nice.
Emotionnal.

The great French director Jean Luc Godard said :
_" photography is reality, cinema is reality 24 times per second".

This is the case in your short clip.

Any reason why to use MLVmystic instead of the latest and greatest coming from those who have constantly been hard at work (for obvious reasons) by keeping things up to date with all the bells and whistles in their apps/converters especially when it comes to using experimental stuff?

I use MLVMystic (on windows 7) because it's perfectly stable.
What are for you the best "uptodate" applications for dng ?

wouaou !
I am not a big fan of the timelapse but here, this city is completely crazy, I did not know that the capital of Kazakhstan was so big and modern (an crazy) !
Nice images, intelligent transitions, beautiful camera mouvements, a bit too much saturation to my taste... but well done !

bravo !

QuoteLove it. Love the French.

Thank's Teamsleepkid !

It's fun to read that French is a pleasant language to hear !

I also like to see (and listen) the subtitled movies just to "feel" the musicality of a language

QuoteYes, you'll have to spend an extra few minutes with each clip to get them into an editable 8bit space, but even doing a half-ass grade will give you a natural look one simply cannot get any other way.
That's true ! I think it's necessary to take time. The long process is an advantage in fiction.

I use Raw cause light and colors are crucial for me. Colors and Light are a part of narration. Light on the actors, light and color around the actors, on a set. With Raw, I can work on light and color with subtlety and precision.
I can sketch an atmosphere with light and colors,  that I could accentuate in post.
If my light and color intentions are in the frame, I could transform and finalize them exactly as I wish.

In a 4k and 8bits workflow, I could reframe, yes => but framing is part of cinematographic writing, I choose to frame, I and want the actor to play with the frame !
In an 4k and 8bits workflow, I have very little latitude to finalize the work of light and color in post =>  everything must be done on shooting.

One year of shorts films shot in 20016 in 2'30 !
Only in RAW ! Only with Magic Lantern !

No camera for the moment can offer me what offers my good old Canon 5D Mark3 with Magic Lantern.
My buddy Canon in MLVRAW is my pen, easy to move. No need to have a large team to managed it !
I can shot quickly, easily, and I can be very close to the actors.

Why not Panasonic GH5 or Sony A7S II ? Just because I love the 14bits color depth and the "organic noise", more than 4k, or slow motion...
I can give my own signature to the image, instead of using Pansonic or Sony one !

Why not Red o Alexa ? Just because there are to expensive, to heavy, to big, 5K or 6k are too heavy to manage in post, my EF lenses are croped...
My old Canon 5D III is not less "professionnel", it just fit in my hands, it's enought for me.

My short films are shown in cinemas in DCP 2K upscaled from FullHD, and they have won several "best cinematography" awards in international festivals, thanks to the flexibility of the MLVRAW.

Magic Lantern is a simply fantastic tool that has changed the face of the world of video creation.

Thanks so much guys, I owe you so much.

My short movie " Dont come back from Paradise " has been selected in a new International Short Film Festival in Canada and win an "Award of Excellence" after an Award for cinematography in a Festival in London.

I would like to sincerely thank the entire team of ML !!! Without you it would never have been possible like that !

Shooting FullHD in RAW with a "simple" Canon 5D Mark3 open some fantastic possibilties => the camera is light then easy to move, the firmware is very stable and very powerful, the image quality is equivalent to a Pro camera, and the 1080p is sufficent for 2k DCPs !

Thank you !
