Hi,

first, I have big problems using remotes with my 5D3. Most of the remote triggers doesn't start the video when pressig the trigger. Sometimes the video starts and sometimes it don't.
I tried the module but it says oldAPI. Is there any possibility to make the module work for me? Or have anyone the same problems and found a solution?

I received a 1050x 128GB today. I tried to fill up the card to see if it will work and got two erros while recording. Early stop (5) This is a bug. Please report it.
Has someone the same problem? Where can I find  a log file to report?

The psycho squirrel is epic! Real nice shots.

there is a limit to 1920x1288 pixels in non crop mode.... so no... not even with an 2000x card.... just no....
#5
with windows cmd this should work:

copy /b FILE.raw+FILE.r00 NEWFILE.RAW

Fond this, more info...

http://blog.planet5d.com/2013/08/komputerbay-256gb-compact-flash-card/

I never reach the same speed in 60fps mode then I reach in normal speed.

Normal 100MB/s
Sqeezed mode: 80MB/s

Don't expect to get 1920 x 672/1080 60fps continously...
#7
No, there is no such setting. 50/60p is always squeezed.
#8
With my Komputerbay 64gb I only get 74MB/s write speed. So 1600x560 @ 60fps is about 550 frames.
What are your settings? @24 fps I get a write speed up to 104MB/s. I'm using build  from 27th of June.

The difference is clearly visible. The DNG lossless converted with adobe dng converter is about 2.5mb
#10
Hi,

when I try the lossless compressen I get 600kb sized files that aren't lossless. How do I get lossless DNGs like when I convert directly in the Adobe DNG Converter?

All you people with 5d3s, PLEASE post some examples! I don't understand why everybody keeps posting their crappy 24p tests but I think I've seen only one video shot in 50p RAW (something on a beach but I can't find it anymore). This seems to be a huge improvement in sharpness over the h264 720p. The 50p quality kinda is a decision maker for me to get a 5d3, if I buy one first thing I'll do is post many many example videos ;-)

I'm also very interested in 50/60p and replace my 5dII the next few days. I can't promise to make a video within the next week. but I want to test the 50/60p feature

Quick test with this build for the 29th -- I'm seeing write speeds of 68-69MB/sec on the KomputerBay 64GB 1000x.  Very nice indeed.  And optional AF-button use for recording.  Fantastic!  Thanks for this.

The Live view image is still active i.e. not frozen/hack3d during record.  Has that feature been activated yet on the 5D2?

I still have awrite speed around 62-64 MB/s

44 MB/s is 1.922.389 bytes per frame @24fps, or 1.537.911 pixels in 10bit - that makes something around 1660x930px frame.

Meaning that resolutions up to 2240x1260 @ 24fps at 83MB/s and 1920x1080 @24fps at 62MB/s should be possible?

I'm really surprised that the 5D mark 2 can handle any of this considering video was added in a firmware update and people have said the cpu was too slow to handle 60 FPS...yet here it is recording 24fps RAW video

Damn.

If the 5D mark 2 can handle this I have no doubt in my mind we will see the whole canon dslr line up shooting raw in the future

The slow CPU is not involved. The RAW output is just saving the files to an other storage...

Raw Video / Re: Raw video on 5DMK2

Hi,

I tested the Komputerbay 64GB 1000x card. Shoot three times 1880x840 als long as possible. 2 Times without frame skipping up to 1300 frames and two times with 2-4 skipped frames.
The file size is about 3,7 GB and the camera shuts down.
I alsow tried to make a memory card test but the cam closing live view. I know there is a way to force live view, but I only made a quick test.

I'm shooting an old nightly build from the 8th.. I think.

Do you have a source? I am in doubt buying an 600x or 1000x card depending on the performance diff.
Source is coutts. Just read all posts from him and hmm the rest like I did.

Hi iverha,

at the moment it's not possible to record fullhd with the 5d2.
The best resolution you can record at the moment is 1880x840 and it still skip frames with an lexar 1000x because the controller of the 5d2 is not fast enough.

Would be interesting to see what your findings are, I've ordered one oft hose Komputerbay cards too.
Haven't tried the raw_rec yet but presumably need firmware 2.1.2 for the faster cards to work?

Has anyone put together a rough guide on the whole setup for 5d mk2?
thanks
UDMA7 is available since firmware 2.0.9.

@ t2scorp
Do you also have a 600x or 800x card?

No, the fastest card at the moment is a 30mb Sandisk and i get quite a long time 1280x720 without dropping frames.

Hmmm... Still getting "EnableBootDisk ;)" error. What am I doing wrong? Have the 1.1.3 firmware, 2 cards (lexar and sandisk SD for ML boot). Copied all from here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7QlH_BH2m32dWpOOEpkWktXMXM/edit to SD card (without raw2dng file of course). Something i missed?

Install the latest stable build and replace the autoexec

I am really interested to see 5DMKII stuff and this is some of the first I have seen. I would like to try the build you are using (maybe you could link me to your build?).

Anyway its encouraging footage and I was wondering what CF card you have and write speed you are achieving?

Please people quote numbers!

Keep it up good people. YAY!!
He is using the Lexar 1000x

I'd also like to get your build to make some test shots. Do you use line skipping and how much is the moire a problem? Are you able to get 1:1 crop from sensor without moire?

Hi everyone:
I need a compiled build for the MK2 so I can test as much as possible without bricking my camera (here in Cuba 2000$ is a fortune)
Dito,

orderd a KOMPUTERBAY 1000x and would like to test it on the 5D2.
