I tried to use the DSLR Controller (android application) on the canon 600D and I think it made some changes to the settings.

Now when I take a shot in silient full res (DNG / MLV) mode, after the shot I see a black screen. The camera does not return to the live view. I have to press the shutter release button again to see the live view.

What parameter is responsible for this? How to make the photo show the lime menu after saving DNG. Should I reset the firmware?

Sorry, still not clear what do you mean by "not touching"?

Some things that can be done (not exclusive):
You can use a remote with setting "Rec key" to trigger recording.
And you can use Lua, of course.
I just triggered my 650D by voice after activating "Audio Remote Shot". It will take additional pics, though. But movie start/stop is not a problem.

More details, please!

I need this to shoot a time-lapse. The camera must not move even a millimeter - therefore, you must not touch it. Sometimes during breaks you need to switch to video shooting. Sometimes, during breaks, you need to switch to video shooting, but do not move the camera. If I manually switch the mode on the video - using the mode wheels, then there is a possibility that the camera will move.

Therefore, I am looking for the simplest and cheapest solution, how to switch from time-lapse recording mode to video recording mode and vice versa.

I found an application for android "DSLR Controller", judging by the photo of the application interface - you can start recording video, but I'm not sure if you can start recording without changing the mode from manual to video recording. I can't test it now, because there is no mini usb -> type-c cable. I ordered a cable, I'm waiting for it to come and check it out.

Is there some way to start shooting video while in Manual mode without touching the camera (That is, without switching the mode)?

I can do this through EOS Utility, but it requires a computer connection and other complications arise.

What are the options? Perhaps some kind of special remote control? Or a LUA script?

Canon supports a very limited set of file extensions via USB: CR2, CR3, JPG, MOV ...
No support for MLV, DNG.

I found one solution you suggested earlier:

Do you think this is relevant and will work?

Hello. I now have a CANON 600D in my hands. I have installed Magic Lantern and am learning how to use it. I also discovered such a convenient program as EOS Utility. I set the camera to silient mode to take pictures without using the shutter. I save in DNG format (full res).

After each shot, I see information that the photo has been saved. But through the PC, I can't see the dng files on the camera. If you pull out the sd card and insert it into the computer, then all DNG files are displayed.

Perhaps I missed something when setting up Magic Lantern or I do not have a driver installed on Win 10, or is it not possible at all? Maybe there are alternative programs?

I shoot time lapses of plants growing and sometimes plants shouldn't get light at night. Accordingly, I should not take pictures at night because there is no point in that. But I have to do it because I don't know how to automate this process. I get a lot of dark shots that don't make sense.

No problem arises if you shoot around the clock without any changes to the settings.

But I need to turn off the camera at night. I can automatically turn off the camera via a 220v socket-timer.

The fact is that after turning off the power of the camera, the settings that I need are turned off - silent shooting, live view mode. Modules after such a power outage disappear until the next restart.

I have to touch the camera, which is not good, I can move the camera position, which is important for a perfect time-lapse.

It would be ideal if I could freeze the camera at certain time intervals - let's say from 22:00 to 6:00 every day - turn off the intervalometer. Is it possible to do this programmatically?

I do not have much experience and perhaps there is already a ready-made solution.  can somehow specify the settings that will be set after restarting the device?
