Please help i have a soot on saterday i have a 5d mark 2 problem when i attach the moniter to the camera the lcd turns off and i am unable to use the view finder to compose my shots ....can both be used?

help......just installed the new version did a stability test that only lasted 4 min then the camera turned off?never saying it was stable...also areas drop out ,time and date pop up is odd places any ideas??
