If your intentions are just to monitor wirelessly while you record your RAW video on CF inside the camera, then it should work.

this is my unique intention  :)

i think so  :)
but we need to test it

hello,
i emailed the company and this is their answer:
QuoteHello,

Thank you for your interest in our Nyrius Prime. In regards to your question about connecting this product to your DSLR camera, as long as your camera has an HDMI output and your source has an HDMI input, you should not have any problem with the functionality of this product.

We have passed on your question about transmitting uncompressed 14 bit raw video to our research and development team, and we will respond to you once we have an answer from them.

Kind regards,
CWD Support

Update for Case #CASE1152117 - "CONNECT ARIES Pro to Canon 5D Mark III"

Hello,
In regards to our previous e-mail, we will require some more information. Is the video going to be recorded at 1080p or lower? If it is, the Aries line should suit your needs. Our Aries line does not currently support 2 or 4k resolution.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

CWD Customer Support

understood!
i apologize if this question has been asked before:
concerning the stability,  what do you recommend for a low budget short film? newest nightly build or the MLV v2.0 ?
thank you

g3gg0 thank you for your answers. but  i have the impression that it might slow down the pace on the field (double  data transfer rate, extra SD cards = extra budget...)
what do you think ?  do you recommend MLV for a short film production? (considering that we have limited time for shooting )

correct. when enabled, you get some 10MiB/s extra.
this is optional, it can be enabled if you wish.

sorry but i don't understand. how we can  record the same file on 2 separate cards??
meaning that we'll have to empty both CF and SD when they are full?
meaning additional data transfer time?

Hello,
i intend to switch from to 5D2 to 5D3. (never used a 5D3 yet)
i read about file spanning  and got confused.
i know it's a silly question but does it mean that the raw files will be recorded on both CF and SD card?
or the SD card is only used as an additional buffer?
if i  buy a 1000x 64GB CF , will it be necessary to buy a 64GB SD card as well ?
thank you for your help

you're right.
it can be a  2nd monitor instead of a laptop

indeed..Nyrius ARIES is the cheap version of  IDX and Paralinx (more latency, less range, longer sync delay at start up...)
do you think the same setting can work with IDX and Paralinx on 5D3 RAW?
for instance  can we use this setting on a steadicam:   5D3-->HDMI splitter -->1st HDMI out to wired 7"monitor + 2nd HDMI out to  Nyrius transmitter --> laptop+  Nyrius receiver)
??

no one using a wireless solution with ML Raw ?? :-\

Hello,
could you please help me with these questions:
- has anyone tried Nyrius ARIES on the Canon 5D MarK III while recording 1080pRAW
- do you think we can attach an HDMI splitter on the 5D3  (RAW hack) and connect to it :
a 7"field monitor + the Nyrius ARIES  ( the Nyrius receiver will be connected to a laptop)
Thank you!

Hello,
i recorded some RAW footage on  my 5D2 ,converted them to DNG and imported them in Adobe Premiere and After effects CS6 via Ginger
i was surprised to see that the playback resolution in premiere is flat and very noisy  whereas in After effects the footage remain very clean
any idea why ?
does premiere deteriorate the footage or is it just the quality of the playback ?
the 1st  screenshot is Premiere and the 2nd After effect (playback resolution is FULL for both PR and AE)

Thanks for your help

QuoteMaybe the company is just another komputerbay. Same rejects?
highly  probable... the seller insisted on the similarities between their technology and lexar's but didn't  go into details
QuoteSeems odd to me that they have a price for 10+ cards
i introduced myself as an ebay reseller  ;)
#19
@aaphotog
QuoteThese are $140 each with a minimum order of 10. The komputerbay are 10 dollars cheaper and there is no minimum order. Why take the chance?
because if the 118$ sample is better than Komputerbay,  we will have a 1000x 64GB CF at around 100$ to 105$ (for an order of 10 pieces)

QuoteBy the way. These are $140 each with a minimum order of 10.
again please forget what is written on their website
the seller told me : "118$ for the sample, and price is lower for 10 pieces and more"

@aaphotog
didn't i tell you that i contacted them ? please forget about what is written on the website.

if those cards are really  similar to the Lexar,  this will be a cheapest (and maybe better) alternative  to  KOMPUTERBAY !

@ aaphotog
Quotesays the minimum order is 10
who said this ?
i contacted her and asked for a sample. she said ok
they are looking for resellers. so play this card

Hello,
Two weeks ago i contacted a Chinese manufacturer of Compact Flash.
The seller claims that their plant manufactures a very (veryyy) similar cards to the Lexar CF cards.
She told me that the price for a 1000x , 64 GB sample card is 118,7$ ; and the price will be lower if we purchase 10 pieces and more.
Here is the link and the specs of the card:
http://hootel.en.alibaba.com/product/730031040-215853235/high_quality_1000X_CF_card_32GB_150MB_S_work_SLR.html
I really want to test this card but I'm not so excited about spending 130$ on a piece of junk.
So what I propose is a call for everyone to contribute to the purchase of this card. (We can pay, for example 1 to 3$ per user)
If  A1ex , Audionut, g3gg0, nanomad...AGREE, we can send them the money via paypal , they can order the card directly and we will wait for their final test.
Please let me know if you are ok with this procedure
Thank you

now that we have RAW video on the 5DM3 , it seems that some people are converging toward a question i asked 5 mnths ago

nanomad:
the idea is to transfer the write data directly to the SSD via a CF input
we can also find "Sata to CF"  adapter on ebay

scrax:
maybe we can find a way to connect a thin cable to the CF slot and file a millimeter of  the card  door ?
