Validate?
Are you getting pink frames? If so, share your settings.

Yes, I am getting pink frames
I am using the 2023Jan29 build.

pink frames happened in

HD 1080p / 1736x1158
NTSC 24p (23.98)
ratio off
bitrate off
Digic peaking slightly sharper
waveform small

those are the only settings modifyed

SOLVED
DIGIC peaking was the problem
no pink frames with DIGIC peaking off

Thank you!

(known issue?)

No pink frames so far in
HD 1080p /16:9
Ana5kfrtp / ratio off & 16:9 & 2.35:1 & 2.39:1

New build:
https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=9741.msg208959#msg208959

- Crude attempt of a zoom function for mv1080p modes. Also for the higher frame rates 48fps etc.

Comes as is. To get it even better we need to alter too many regs for me to do atm.

Hey Danne,
Just downloaded "crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_raw_only_2020Oct06.EOSM202.zip"
on 07.10.2020 around 00:30AM CET.

Installed on fresh card. Seems like the install is funky somehow.
"crop_rec_4k_mlv_snd_raw_only_2020Sep12.EOSM202_frtp_hdmi.zip" worked nicely though.

Not sure if this is helpful, but I thought I might as well report back just now:

Lots of features seem to be missing.

Sub menues are missing.

Maybe modules not loading properly?
Install routine seemed shorter than usuall...

Not sure if this is relevant...

I did a Rom/Ram Dump in ML and zipped everything on the SD:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q7FyUKB6otCwW-P8YuPIMDNSMjf9MszI/view?usp=sharing

Uppon opening "CPU Usage" under the "Debug" tab the camera locked.
Battery pull was required. Cam started back up just fine.
I then decided not to mess with stuff I don't understand ^^

If this post is not helpfull or irrelevant, please ignore.
Thanks!

Not quite following you. The Anamorphic 9:5 setting is under the Display menu but where's DigitalPanning? I'm not seeing a big improvement in preview performance just by turning on Anamorphic 9:5.

Right!
The quality of the improvement is debatable.
I meant: In my opinion this method offered the best trade-off between the correctly framed but laggy "Framing" live view (selectable in the raw menu) and the fluid but very stretched "Realtime" live view (selectable in the raw menu).

The effect of the describe settings are:
Anamorphic 9:5=Elimination of the stretching of the real-time liveview

Digital Panning (in the advanced Raw settings)= pushing the liveview upwards a tiny bit towards (although far from) center framing

Sorry for my inaccurate post before.
I hope this is not confusing things even more.

Although center framing in real-time liveview would help even more in getting a sens of what I am recording,  I preferred the non-stretched liveview over the stretched... even with the cutoff framing...

So I played arround with the liveview in MV1080 and stumbled uppon this little trick:

When in MV1080 and using Realtime Liveview you get a more accurate, fluid representation by using "Anamorphic 9:5" and "DigitalPanning".
However the framing, although better, is still not properly centered and is missing info on the top and bottom.

Not sure if this helps, but maybe there is a way to fix the liveview this way?
Although Im optimistic there is a way to make it work properly... at least in 16:9... but I wouldnt know where to start.

Here some comparisons:

Streched Realtime liveview

Correct framing but slow liveview

Anamorphic9:5 and DigitalPanning Method

Recording is not affected

Settings
...

Hope this is helpfull in any way.
Cheers!

Hey everyone,
I ran a test with an EOS M and a new Sandisk 128GB ExtremePRO.
I used "magiclantern-Nightly.2018Apr17.EOSM202_sd_uhs.zip"/2018-04-17 and "sd_uhs.mo"/2018-04-19 from Danne.

And I found these Memory patches... though I dont really know if it is of any value...

However I did not quite catch how to enable the overclock for the actuall recording -

I think this was already disclaimed, but I got an error message when trying to run the test whilste a couple other modules where still enabled.
Do we already know which modules produce this error?

Which other stepps need to be taken next to move this module forward?
